witifile.com Credit card fraud Internet

On 11/11/2011, an Internet-based business named, witifile.com, placed an unauthorized charge of $8.20 on my credit card. This company appears to be engaged in the business of data storage & retrieval. The company provides NO physical street or mailing address on their website, and the phone number shown is a non-working one. This raises a cloud of suspicion in my book. Any reputable business entity is going to have a valid physical street and/or mailing address posted on their website! I filed formal complaints with the FTC, another federal government agency, and local law enforcement. I emailed the company and demanded they refund the amount of the unauthorized charge, which they did on 11/14. They claimed that they "investigated", but did not believe the error was on their part. I also alerted my bank and the credit bureau's to this fraudulent activity, and had my existing debit card acount cancelled & a new one issued. I've placed fraud alerts with the credit bureaus as well. I am not the only victim of this company, nor do I know just how compromised my personal information is. There are multiple complaints against this company at complaintswire as well, and every one is identical to mine. I'd never even heard of this company until this incident occurred. A police detective with my local law enforcement had me forward copies of my email to the company and the company's email response back to me, so they can attempt to ascertain the business's IP address. Since this company's bogus charge on my credit card occurred after two purchases at two different businesses on the same day, I would strongly recommend everyone check your credit card & debit card activity an hour or two after any purchases you make.

same thing happen to me on 2-17-12 for $5.10. i was at work when the transaction took place so i went to my bank and told them about the fraudulant charge and cancelled my bank card. i have no idea where they got my card number from. i have sent a email to them as well as my bank asking for the charges back. have not heard back from them. someone needs to find these people and arrest them. they are getting over on so many people as to everyone cant check their bank account online. thank god i can. these people need to be stoped. witifile co. sucks
