Zendough TransUnion TrueCredit Can't cancel free trial offer or subscription. Horrible customer service! Old Fort, Tennessee

Tried Zendough's 7 day free trial offer. On the first day decided I did not want the service. Tried to call the one and only phone number to cancel. Phone prompt and voice prompts did not work from my Blackberry. Tried repeatedly. Called sister company, TrueCredit. They said they couldn't help me. Called TransUnion, which is the PARENT company, they said they couldn't help me either. I asked both companies to speak with a supervisor. Both companies put me on hold for a ridiculous amount of time. Never spoke to any manager. I was the victim of the "leave on hold until they hang up" strategy. Zendough has no other opt out options. There is no on-line opt out, no e-mail contact, or any other general contact number. They require a credit card number before receiving the free trial. I called Discover the very first day and they noted my account. Today, I officially disputed the charge. Zendough's phone system may work with a regular phone. So try a NON-Smartphone to cancel to see if it works. The service they offer is credit score, alerts, risk assessment....certainly not worth the money. Especially with horrible, awful service. There is no reason why they cannot put an opt out on their website. It is scandalous that a CREDIT REPORTING agency is SCAMMING me!

I ran into the same problem as you, and every time I would call and press option #4 to cancel the service I was just put on an infinite hold and nobody every picked up. I take that back, one time someone did pick up but they literally just put the phone down on their desk (I heard the "thunk" of the handset being set down), and they forgot to mute it and I could hear a bunch of people just sitting around talking in a foreign language. Are you f*ing kidding me??

So today when I called back I pressed Option #2 to inquire about new services, and lo and behold someone answered the line within about 15 seconds with a cheery voice! I explained that I had been trying to call and cancel my service for 3 days now and that I could never get through, and he started to say that he was going to transfer me over to the correct department that could help me with that. I had to rudely cut him off and tell him I wasn't going to let him transfer me, that I demanded he help me out since I haven't been able to get anyone in that department to answer the phone. Well then he started in on his sales pitch about how beneficial the service is, yada, yada, yada, and again I had to cut him off and state very blutnly that I was not interested at all in continuing the service past my trial (which ends today). So then he sighed (*LITERALLY*), and said he would cancel it and then he gave me a 3 digit confirmation number for the call. WTF? A 3 digit confirmation? Do you mean to tell me that I'm less than the 1, 000th person who has successfully cancelled their service? I actually wouldn't be surprised by that, given the completely pain in the butt that I had to go through to cancel it.

Like the OP said above, there is NO way to cancel online so you MUST call if you want to cancel. This is just their way of giving yo the runaround and hope you'll either give up or run out of time before your trial ends so they can bill you.

My advice - don't bother signing up just for the free score, the headache isn't worth it.

I just signed up for the free report 2 days ago and immediately tried to cancel the service to avoid the $14.95 monthly fee. Well, the numbers I have are bogus. Both (800) 493-2392 and 800-595-5760 are never answered. I've called over 30 times and after 2 minutes, each call is disconnected. I've already filed a complaint with the BBB and have sent multiple emails. What a waste of my time.

If you have another number to reach them, please post it here. In the meantime, I swear Transunion / Truecredit is a complete SCAM. Don't trust them for anything. I'm going to have to cancel my credit card to protect myself from the credit agency. That's nuts.

I had the same problem... I have been charged on my AMEX 14.95 for last 5 months (on the 30th of each month from March to July 2011) which is a total of 74.75. I called my credit card company and spoke to the manager at AMEX to request full refund of 74.75 and to block Zendough from future charges. I was successful in having my $74.75 back. You have to explain to your credit card carrier (as long you are a good customer and paid your bills on time each month). Do not deal with a credit card represensative as they cannot do much for you as they have to follow some robotic policy rules. ASK FOR THE MANAGER, and you will get things done this way. If the criminal outfits are aggressive in trying to scam you, then you have to be aggressive and diligent to make sure you get your full money back and BLOCK the offending charging party from charging you on your credit card. I learned this the hard way and am passing my experiences for your benefit. Good luck!

Same problem, I can't get a hold of anyone. I've changed my expiration date and removed the 3 digit security number on my credit card profile to see if that will stop it from charging me.
