1st Engine and Transmission A1 Parts Stop, Dallas County Auto Salvage, A-1 Engines and Transmissions, A Best Car Parts, All Used Engines and Trans, Ch

I called the company looking for a used transmission for a 4WD pickup on 10/1/12. They answered the phone as 1st Engine and Transmission. This was also on a business card and invoince. I was told by the sales person that one was available for sale at the price of $1900. I sent a driver 86 miles one way to pick up the part on 10/2/12. We paid by credit card. When he returned, I realized that it was the wrong part (it was for a 2WD). I called on 10/2/12 several times during business hours but was unable to speak with anyone or have the option of leaving a message. The next morning I finally spoke to someone who told me that it was a mistake and they would need to pull the correct trans from a salvaged vehicle. I called several times during the day to find out the status of my part and was told that it was almost out and would be delivered to me that evening. That day came and went. This charade went on for several days the same way. I always was told that it was out for delivery, or was being rebuilt, or was yet another 2WD! On 10/6/12, I spoke to Joe. He said that the ball was dropped by someone else, but he was going to get my problem solved. So the process started all over. I spoke only to Joe from then on. On 10/10/12, I received a call from thier delivery driver that he was bringing my part and he wanted an address to deliver to. I asked what time it was to be delivered. He told me that it would be 3:00 p.m. I asked to speak to Joe in order to get an earlier delivery time. Joe reluctantly spoke to me only because the driver handed his cell phone to him. He told me that the part would be there by 12:00 p.m. At 2:00, I called and was told by Joe that he had to change the tires on the delivery truck, but he was leaving immediately to come to me. I called again at 4:00 and he said that he would be there in 20 minutes. At 5:00, I finally reached the driver on his cell phone, who said that he was an hour away. I received the part at 7:00 p.m. I asked the driver for the owners name and he told me that he was unsure who the owner was, and that I should talk to Joe. I tried to install the transmission on 10/11/12 only to find out that it is still the wrong part. According to the local Dodge dealership, I can make it work if I purchase a new clutch and flywheel. I decided to buy the extra parts rather than deal with this company any further. In summation: I was polite and level-headed in all communications. I never once was loud or beligerant. I was not given the option of a refund. Only an exchange. I received only ONE phone call from the company and that was from the delivery driver. All other contact was initated by me. There were several times that I would call during normal business hours and be sent directly to a voice mail that was full, therefore I was unable to leave a message. Worst of all, I believe that I was lied to in order to buy time to resolve the problem instead of just giving me an honest answer. I use this vehicle in my business. For every day that it was down, I lost about $1000. To add insult to injury, not one person ever apologized about anything.
