This guy "fixes" PS3's and Xbox 360's so that they will only work for about a week, he claims to have a 90 day "warranty". He will not honor this warranty, he will blame the consumer for any problem that occurs, no matter what it is and will say he isn't responsible and it's not his fault. I tried either to get my money back or to get my system repaired, he refused to do either then hung up on me. This guy is a total scam artist. Just a warning to anyone that is considering using him.

I've had this guy look at 4 different things for me. Three xbox drives and one xbox. He only charged for what he could fix. Two drives work perfectly and the other cost more then it was worth to me. The xbox had coke spilled on it and it was destroyed. Couldn't fix, no charge.

I'm completely happy with the service I've received from him. Hence why I keep going back.

Jack has worked on several systems for me and was always very honest. Had a separate issue come up about 2 months after and he fixed for free. I will always recommend him.

this is what happened to us.

On 7/16/11 we took our xbox360 to have it repaired at 417fixit. We pt $45 and were told that there was a 90day warranty, that if anything should still not work he would repair it at no additional cost. A couple hours later Jack called and said it was ready. We picked it up. It worked. We were happy. We did not play it for a week after that until Sunday, 7/24/11. When we turned it on that day it did not work. We were not worried because we were sure all we had to do was take it back and it would be repaired. The business hours, as stated on his sign, website, and voice mail, are Tue-Sat, 10-6. On Tuesday 7/27/11, at 10:00am we stopped by the shop to drop off the xbox and Jack was not there. We tried calling him numerous times and there was never an answer. We did not reach him by phone until the afternoon of Thursday 7/28/11. We did take the xbox back to him that evening and were told that he knew what was wrong with it and that it would be ready the next day. Friday, I called to see what time it would be ready and was told that he still had 6 more hours of work left and could I get it on Saturday between 2:00-3:00. We arrived at his shop at 1:45pm and again he was not at the shop. Again we tried calling him repeatedly with no answer. He finally answered his phone on Monday 8/1/11 and proceeded to tell me that he had a family emergency come up and that is why he wasn’t there Sat. and that he was closed on Mon. and that I could come by tomorrow to pick up the xbox. I call the next day to find out what time we can come by and he says, “you mean my wife didn’t call you?” and then explains that he’s had a hard time communicating with people and that he had to order a part from California ant that it would in in a couple of days and that he would call us when it was ready. On Wednesday 8/3/11 at around 7:00pm Jack calls and says that is it ready and we can come get it. Being as it was already so late in the evening, we asked if we could get it the next day and specifically asked what time he would be there. He stated that he would be there between 11:00-6:00. So, on Thursday 8/4/11 we arrive at his shop at 2:00pm and once again he is not there and calling is fruitless. At around 5:00pm we decided to go to Jack’s house. He was sitting on his front porch and as soon as my husband got out of the car to talk to him he became immediately hostile. His first words to us were, “stay off my property.” My husband explained the situation. Jack was unsympathetic and unconcerned. He said he would finish dinner and then he would go to the shop and then he would call us to come pick it up. He also said the he hoped it worked. Not trusting that he would actually do as he said my husband said that we report the xbox stolen. Jack said good luck with that and that now he would think about letting us have it tomorrow. He also told my husband that “he really should watch his attitude since we live in a conceal and carry state.” My husband told him that he is stealing our property and he said that now he would not give it to us unless we mail him our address and then he would mail the xbox to our house. Needless to say, we do not trust him to keep his word and I am leery of sending him my address in light of the fact that he threatened us. All we want is our property back and he is saying that if we come to his house or his shop that he is going to call the cops and tell them we are trespassing. We spoke to the police and the said the only think we can do is take him to small claims court.

Sunshine Ave., Suite A, Springfield, MO has taken our Xbox 360 in for repair and refuses to fix and/or return the property unless we give him a certified letter with mailing costs and our personal address to mail it back. Jack also threatened us not to come to his business property or call him, noting that Missouri is a "conceal and carry state." Why is this guy threatening us? Why is this place taking our Xbox 360? Parts? Apparently, this repair shop is intimidating clients in an attempt to steal property for some reason. We filed a stolen property report with the police department. The police suggested that we have an officer meet us at 417FixIt and the officer would try to discern if we owed the business money or if the business owed us the Xbox 360. I told the police that "he threatened us with conceal and carry" statements. The police said that they would check things out and call us.

dear upset customer,

i would very much love to hear how things turn out for you. when i spoke to the police they basically told me i would have to take it up in small claims court as it is a civil manner. i did not understand why they could not just go with me to pick it us as you suggested but they did not even entertain that suggestion.

as it stands right now i am fighting with him through the better business bureau, which has proven pointless because jack does not want to be reasonable in any way.

i am going to sue him after the matter is settled with the bbb.

i do now understand whey he would want to treat anyone this way. the thins you said are EXACTLY what happened to us almost word for word.

I have taken 4 xbox360's to Jack at his home before he had the shop to be repaired. All of which were repaired and returned with him honoring each 90 warranty and all of which are broken again. Before they broke agian we recommended him to a friend of ours because we had such a great ex with Jack to begin with. However all of our units that were broke are broken again and my friends are in the same condition and before they had any problems with Jack they gave his number to a family member. Their family member is having the issues that are stated above he is refusing to return the xbox360 to them and it was already paid for ($40). When I was going to him we had a few things that seemed normal until I read that they are a common excuse for this guy *when he couldnt return our xbox the day he said it would be ready he said he had a FAMILY EMERGENCY* *also he has stated the he was buying a part from Cali* *Lastly he has said that there are medical issue that are holding up the fix times* DO NOT buy into to any of these this guy will steal your things and be an all around Jerk!! I am sorry I ever told my friends about him!!

Jack will not answer my calls. He still has my PS3. My two Xbox 360s failed repeatedly, within minutes the latest time. His shop is in the offices of a church, so I will be speaking to church officials tomorrow and will file a complaint with them notifying them that they are renting to a thief and con artist and this reflects poorly upon the church. Everyone call Jefferson Ave Baptist Church at (417) 881-8866 ?and request your meeting with the pastor and then ask that they look into Jack's behavior. Steve

I had a very smiler experience with "angry customer". I had him "fix" an xbox, it worked for about an hour, then died, I took it back to be fixed, per his "90 day guarantee", he told me it would be fixed in a couple of hours, he came up with excuse after excuse as to why he couldn't fix it, mostly blaming me. He even called up my wife and cussed her out, have no idea why he did that. Even had a fake lawyer call me and threaten to sue me for harassment. I was finally after about a month able to get my still broken xbox back, but not my money. I did file complaints with the city of Springfield and the state attorney generals office. If you have had issues with him also, please file complaints with the authorities. It's the only way to keep others from being ripped off.

Wow. I was planning on trying to get my Xbox in with him tomorrow, because I was so thrilled to see his 90-day guarantee. I am so glad that I searched a little more and found these posts. These are some outrageous 'business' practices on his part. Just wanted to thank you all for posting, and to let you know that he is losing business by your actions. Thanks again for sparing those of us that find this site!

I have to say, I love Jack. The guy is honest and always fixes my systems. I have never had one come back to me. (I own a Pawn shop) and have heard nothing but praise from him except for one strange call From a guy named Al Mey. Al Mey called me and asked if I ever bought broken Xboxes and wanted to make a deal with me. He said he could fix them for $20 each. I asked his methods. He said "x-clamp" repair, which I had been warned against by Jack over 3 years before as he was making his pitch to me. I informed Al Mey that I had a guy. Al Mey said, let me guess, Jack from 417fixit. Al Mey proceeded to tell me what a bad guy Jack was and that I should check out this page (funny how he knew about it) . I checked out this page and the BBB on Jack. All I can say is that some of these posts here seem suspect. I have know Jack for 3 years and he has always been courteous and nice. Jack does not give me a group rate, as he says, A reball is a Reball and $40 is as low as he goes. Now I took the time to look up Al Mey, and came up with the following. Looks ok I guess, and then this : It seems Al Mey has victimized a 5 year old girl and Is very interested in getting the Jacks business as he seems to be getting tired of working as a day laborer. How awful to sabotage an honest man with blatant lies on here. Jack is an honest hard working man that has debilitating arthritis, but will not take one cent from the taxpayers. I have been to his humble house and ate with him and our children have played together. I have never known him to be anything but honest and fair. He is a rich man with his wonderful family even if he does not seem to have a great deal of wealth. I am saying this as a customer and a friend. It is hard to find someone as honest as him!
