Beware of these scam artist and always check your credit card as their $300 deposit policy is more than meets the eye. When you get to the front you will here, "we are placing an additional $300 hold on your credit card". Fair enough, but I always wondered, if I wanted to steal or damage your car, what good is $300, but I digress. Read their Yelp Reviews, 1.4 stars 2/11. In February 4th I rented a car from Ace Rent A Car. The total with taxes was $30 per day. I had an 8 day rental. My total was $250ish 6 days later I checked my credit card and the same amount that the agent said would be credited back to me after 3 days is still on my Am Ex card. The $250+ charge turned into 3 charges that totaled $744. With Am Ex, always call to dispute they are your first line of defense. I call Ace and they sent me to the corporate offices. Well guess what, corporate does not communicate with the branches so they could not look up my information. Then I try calling the local branch and their phones are too busy on a Thursday morning to pick up. What is going on here? Their extra charge, caused my travel card to go over the limit. Guess what an additional $30 charge. I simply want them to take accountabilty, return my funds and provide me a $30 statement credit for causing my card to go over the limit. You can save a dollar by going with these guys, but the headache and fees are not worth the $25 savings. Try a trusted name, these guys have customer service issues and will not be around long at this rate. Very disappointed. |

I have had the same issue with Ace Rent a car LAX (located in the Four Points Sheraton), who goes under the name Blue Oval on your transactions. If you have rented from this place and notice some weird/confusing activity on your account, you are not freaking out.
They have a system of confusing tactics for all parties involved (you/your bank). In a nutshell my rental was $300 some dollars, they charged me $600 some dollars. They credited my acct for the overcharged amt and a month later redebited the charge and claimed that it was not them.According to the bank they actually credited & debited on the same date 2 months earlier but the credit posted 1 month later and the debit posted 2 months later.
My advice, DO NOT RENT FROM THEM.If you have already, follow the investigation thoroughly until your money is returned, watch your account for months to come, get the word out to others, report to better business bureau. |
