Aerosoles Areogroup Hijacked My Credit Card Edison, New Jersey
20th of Apr, 2011 by User659094
I recently discovered Aerosoles footwear and noticed that they had stylish shoes and great prices. Having been a long-time web consumer, I saw no problem in ordering from their online store. I selected one pair of shoes and placed the order. I was immediately informed via website that the shoes were not available and were in fact on back-order. The shoes were expected to be back in the warehouse in about 10 days. No problem. The day of the order, I noticed that Aerosoles had issued an authorization to my credit card. Two days later, they again authorized the card. This is a big no-no. Companies should only authorize a card once. This action on their part sent up red flags. Their website claims 24/7 customer service. This is false advertising. They do not have 24/7 customer service. They have someone in their warehouse that can authorize a card on a Saturday, but apparently no one there can tell you why on a Saturday. I was told to call back on Sunday. On Sunday, I was told to call back on Monday. On Monday, I got a voice mail. Later that same Monday, I finally got in touch with someone who canceled the order and a supervisor was supposed to call me back on the unauthorized authorizations. The supervisor never called me back. A few hours later, they placed a charge on my card, an unauthorized charge on an order that was canceled and was never intended to ship for two weeks anyway. I put one more call into Aerosoles to get them to reverse the charges. The man who answered told me I had a mental problem and that they had never charged my card. I call my Credit Card company to dispute the charges, and I canceled my credit card to prevent Aerosoles from charging me again. I was enormously inconvenienced. But the scariest part is when a company thinks they have the latitude to charge your card as many times as they want to and then Customer Service claims never to have done so. My credit card company said that someone at Aerosoles was keying in the number, so someone at that company was physically doing this, it was not a computer glitch. This company is the worst I have ever had to deal with. They hijacked my card and acted like they had a right to do so, and no shoes were ever shipped.
