Hi

My computer crashed last week...had a virus my systems (spyboc & Avast) didnt detect... my computer wouldnt open up... lucky I know how to wipe my computer and take back to "factory settings"... so I reloaded everything and now its working fine!

Today I received a call from a company claiming to be AES...based in Liverpool..UK...they all spoke with an American accent...they started by claiming to be the company that all the "error reports" go to .... they claimed they could re set and remove all my viruses.... over about an hour on the phone... it became clear that they knew too much about me...Im now living in France...they got my new phone number, my address, full name etc.... they got me to push various buttons and showed me a screen on my laptop to show the "79 viruses" they claimed I had...they also found the screen to show my "licence" to run the computer had expired... they said that I had my computer too long... they said my computer would crash and never reopen if I didnt get rid of these "viruses"

I smelt a rat...when they got me to go to a web site that I had to pay for different payment schemes to "re set" my licence..... "... this could have been over £500.... I told them I didnt have the money... and they are to call me back on Monday...I wont be taking the call

I have googled the company.... there is only a electrical shop in Liverpool of that name.... I have checked with an IT expert who confirmed this IS A SCAM!!!

They probably sent the mailware that made my computer crash last week...they have seen my back ground computer files and therefore could get em to see the "viruses"...these files could have been anything....

I hope as I have reset and reformatted my laptop their mailware has been removed...

PLEASE BE AWARE...DONT GET SCAMED...PLEASE PASS ON TO ALL YOU KNOW.... GET THESE CRIMINALS STOPPED!
