Allegheny Power West Penn Power Manipulative Monopoly Energy use goes down but the bill goes up I have asked for a new meter they refused Internet

I live in an area where the main power lines go through my front yard. Yet allegheny power charges me almost 100 dollars for a distribution charge. I told them I should get a discount. I dont understand how they charge me outrageous fees for all the equipment to (supply me electric). The main line is in my front yard. I paid a security deposit when I first got electric and now they want another $500 deposit. I do not understand that either. In February 2010 I paid my bill completely off with my income tax. The following month March I recieved a bill for $500 that was just for February. When I called them they said it was a very cold month! However I have a digital thermostat. When I leave for work and noone is home I set the thermostat to 60 degrees! I explained this to them and yet they still argue with me rather than explain and help me understand! I asked for a new meter and they REFUSED! The meter on my pole is a Digital Meter! Before my grandfather died he worked for Allegheny power for over 20 years and even he said that the meters can malfunction and have been known to do so! I also asked them to come out and test my meter they again REFUSED! How can you treat your CUSTOMERS this WAY?!! Well, in my OPINION the reason for their USELESS (HELP) and Poor Customer Service skills are because they CAN!!! They know WE NEED them! They are our ONLY SOURCE of ELECTRICITY! Its a monopply! Which SHOULD be AGAINST the LAW!!! We need another Competitor to keep the rates LOWER!!! Their RATES are RIDICULOUS. But we have no CHOICE. Someone needs to step in. So how about it State Represenative We NEED CHANGE! WE WANT CHANGE!!!

I agree! I have been late on a few bills and they just charged me $353.00 for security. I always pay my bill and now they are putting me in a position where I may have to get my electric shut off. No government or politicians are going to help us. These energy companies dump a ton of money to the dictators to keep them in power. What can we do?
