American Publisher's Service. BIG SCAM! Somewhere in TN, Tennessee
14th of Dec, 2011 by User895102
I received a call in November 2011 reguarding a $500 Walmart Valture. Going against my better judgement I stayed on the phone to listen to what the man was saying. Big mistake! He told me he would send me my valture and he needed my address and some info. He mentioned I could get magazines for around 4 bucks a month, but I quickly said I wasn't interested because I was unemployed at the time. He said it wasn't a problem and he would transfer me to another person so she could finalize my address and info. When I was transfered, I was told I was going to be getting my valture in the mail and all she needed was a valid credit card number so they could ship me my prize. I was very hesitant, but she assured me that my card would not be charged at all. She also mentioned the magazines and how I could cancel at anytime if I decided I didn't want them, but I said I wasn't interested because I was unemployed. She said ok well give me ur CC # so I did and she transfered me to a third person. The last lady I talkd to had told me okay the computer shows me you have a (i dont remember how many months..i wanna say 18 months) contract at 29.99 a month. I was like WHAT!?! I said I didn't want mags and cancel this crap. All I wanted was my valture and she said well they explained to you the contract and prices. I told her I was not aware of the "contract" and I was told 4bucks a month not 30. She then went on to saying well as soon as you gave ur CC numbre you were charged. I was so mad at this point, I said cancel this crap now and she said thats not an option. We pre-pay all our orders for your convenience and she went on and on giving me a ton of bull till she had me thinking I was trapped and couldn't get out of it for over a year. She told me to write some info down and repeat it when the recording came on and I repeated the info she gave me because I felt trapped and thought the company was legit. Well I googled the company once I got off the phone and the first thing that came up was "Scam Beware!!" and this girl right here was not happy. I called my bank and they canceled my card but I keep getting cheap mags in the mail that I don't want. They aren't getting another penny from me. I tried calling to cancel but they keep saying they have my "Verbal Contract" on tape. I said you work for a vile company full of scam artists and I don't see how you can sleep at night. I have a three year old and its almost his birthday and christmas and your guna try to take the little money I have. She told me She was sorry I felt this way and I could pay a $500 cancelation fee. I said Eff you and hung up.
