I recently replied to an ad in Craig's list for an Office Manager position. Within a day of sending my resume to the required email, I received the following letter: Thanks for applying for the administrative position we put up on Craigslist. We want to start the hiring process as soon as possible, which includes an interview, a background check and a credit check, per our company policy. This is now standard policy with many companies around the country. The background check can be done at the face-to-face interview, but the credit check can be pulled for free at the comfort of your own home. We ask that you print out the credit check, and have it ready for review at the interview. Click here to get your free credit check. The credit check is absolutely free, and will not hurt your score by any means. This part of the process is mandatory, and must be done through our approved source. Once this process is completed, send us the transaction ID # to confirm, and we'll set you up for an interview in the next couple days. Speak to you soon, Andrew Young, Vice President
Prodigie's Academy Inc. There ARE NO FREE Credit reports online. They get your credit card # & start emptying your account out. So in fact this is a 2-part scam. First, making one believe they may be a possible candidate for the job, and secondly, getting you to "buy" the "free" credit report. I almost fell for it, but instead did a little research on Prodigy Academy Guess what..no ANDREW YOUNG! Beware Job Hunters!
