I paid a down payment of $1000 to Leroy Shankle on APRIL 13, 2011 for the purchase of a 2001 PONTIAC GRAND AM GT as is for $2500 from, his friend, ANGELA MOORE. As I stated to MR. SHANKLE, before & after signing the contract, I don't know anything about cars, but if he states nothing is wrong with the car, then I'm ok with it. MR. SHANKLE then stated to me if anything is wrong with the car, he would either help pay to get the car repaired or I return the car and he'd get my money back. At that time I wasn't aware of the personal relationship between Mr. Shankle & Ms. Moore. The agreement was to obtain the car when the $1000 deposit was paid & pay the remaining balance at $300 monthly. The first week I had the car, it was giving me problems. I took the car to AUTO ZONE on APRIL 27, 2011 & had them test the car for any electrical and/or mechanical issues. I received the report from AUTOZONE stating what was wrong with the car. The report stated the car needed a catalytic converter, there's a large vacuum leak & engine oil is leaking into the exhaust valve guide seals & piston rings. I sent a text to Mr. Shankle advising him of Auto Zone's report. He responded by telling me I needed to contact Ms. Moore since he was no longer involved with her. He then provided me with Ms. Moore's #. I asked him had he informed Ms. Moore of my concerns at the time I got the car from him, which was the cracked windshield & knob for the side mirrors. I didn't call Ms. Moore in regards to the report from Auto Zone because I didn't have a verbal or written agreement about repairs for the car. I contacted Mr. Shankle because of our verbal agreement. The next morning, APRIL 28, 2011, Ms. Moore called me & stated she needed my address, which I provided, to bring her mechanic by to look at the car. Ms. Moore & a guy that said he was a mechanic came to my home and took the car, the report from Auto Zone & the items I had just purchased for the interior of the car. The guy Ms. Moore brought to my home stated he was taking the car to his shop & they would be bringing the car back within an hour. before he drove off in the car, I asked him where was his shop located & why was he taking the car. He stated to check it out. I then stated to him that she was paid for the car according to our agreement & how do I contact him. He just drove off. After 2 hours passed, I called Ms. Moore with my friend, JERMAINE WALLACE, on a conference call. MS. MOORE answered & hung up on me when I stated who I was. I attempted to call again & I got her voicemail. I left a message a message for her. I then contacted Mr. Shankle to try & find out what was going on. MS. MOORE later called me yelling & beligerently false accusations. Ms. Moore went on to state that I could not get the car back until I paid her the remaining balance which was not what was agreed upon. MS. MOORE continued shouting & stated I could call the police or whomever I wanted, because the car was still in her name & she wasn't going to give me back my money no matter what. After she hung up on me, Ms. Moore did not answer any of my calls thereafter...she did not give me any other ways to communicate with her, which led me to believe she has done this on more than just this occasion.
