Okay so I have the iPod touch that I use from time to time. I especially use it when I work out. Everything was working fine as usual. I worked out one night and it was working fine. The next morning my iPod would not turn on or do anything at all. I waited a couple of days to see if it would turn on again but no such luck. About a week later I made an appointment to take it to my local apple store to have it looked at. As I arrive to to the store I am greeted by a store associate that looks at my iPod with some type of scope that he inserts into the earphone jack of the iPod. He says it's water damage and that I burned out the circuits of the iPod and he knows this because all of the iPods have this color marker inside to indicate water damage. And that was it. He said he would give me a refurbished iPod for $100 and take mine. Convinced it was not water damage I turned him down on his offer and got online to see if I could fix the problem. I got instructions on how to reset my iPod and guess what....IT WORKED!!!! So here is my theory. I turn in my iPod to them. They do what I did and sale my 'refurbished' iPod to some unsuspecting person that comes in with their iPod not working. I would have ended up paying $100 for someone else's iPod that they simply reset. Isn't apple making enough money that they don't have to scam people like this? Amazing. Simply amazing.
