The admissions department of this institution is currently listing a Assistant Director Of Admissions position. The actual job function of the position they are trying to fill is nothing more than a call-center admissions telephone person. Hard times within the education sector have called for cutbacks at many of the for profit institutions and many job-seekers who are skilled at directing different admissions departments and other upper echelon jobs are refusing to be relegated to call-center, cubicle based jobs. Art Institutes is aware of that and because of a high turnover rate within their institution, they are ratcheting up their tactics to entice and lure top talent to their city and their information sessions. It takes roughly 30 minutes of their information session for them to reveal what they are truly looking for and ultimately insult the PhDs and other top talent sitting in front of them. It is insulting to the educational community, it makes their institution look more desperate than it already is and it is flat out bad business. People who travel long distances for these information sessions need to be informed that AIs use of the words Assistant Director or even Director is just a Bait-&-Switch tactic they are using and really means you will be sitting in a cubicle and working Saturdays as opposed to occupying the corner office that your pedigree and experience demands.
