AT&T

AT&T , where do I start. I got rid of Comcast because the rudeness of the CSR was just disgusting. Now I know better. I got AT&T "High Speed Internet" was shooting for U-verse but because I live just 30 feet give or take across the street from my neighbors that have it...it is not offered in my area..WOW. SO called and talked to a CSR and she was wonderful. I also decided why not give satellite a try. Now mind you Direct TV is for the price cheaper than Comcast but its amazing so many more channels (this was also offered by AT&T). Now I pay for the fastest that is offered which is 6 mbps. Which was offered for 19.99 yet I am paying 45.99 that is with the discount. I am less than 50 miles from where the office is. I am getting , are you ready for this, 3 mbps. WOW its so fast I honestly don't know how to contain myself. During "peak" hours its maybe 2 mbps. I have been doing a speed test for the past 3 weeks and I have only twice gotten 5 or higher. First modem they sent was crap. Constant red lights, constant disconnects, constant long waiting . It has been a nightmare.
The CRS people are not bad , they are trained by AT&T , in my experience in dealing with them has never been the problem.
I cancelled my dsl. am going back to comcast. The CRS said I will be charged a early termination fee. Go ahead and try . I guarantee I won't pay it. When I talked to AT&T I asked specifically if there was a contract. I was told NO. But with dish network I am in a two year agreement. Works for me that is the only reason I signed up. AT&T you false advertise. If I download something it takes anywhere from 55 minutes to 4 hours. Honestly, ping at 135 pretty constant?? AT&T should seriously get rid of the wonderful DSL.
