|Last December 19 I took a short term rental agreement at Bay Harbor Apartments in Ft. Meyers Florida and on the day of move in they took a month of security deposit on a short term lease and a $350 pet deposit and then $89 for some kind of bond.|
I had to leave to go into the hospital in my home state and that is when they would not provide a copy of a signed lease. They said they were too busy.
I contacted the owner's who are VISTA REALTY GROUP out of Atlanta GA and they said that is was unacceptable that I was not provided with a signed copy of my short term lease and that I would loose my security deposit and pet deposit but that I was free to leave and OWED THEM NO MONEY.
I asked for that in writing as well as my signed lease copy and they never sent one and said I was "all set".
ONE YEAR LATER I get a letter from a Collection Agency for the BOND COMPANY they use and they said that Bay Harbor put a $500 bond fee on my credit report last March and that I owed them $500.00
I immediately responded and told them the story and I contacted the person I spoke with that owned Bay Harbor, Lisa Kaste of VISTA REALTY in Atlanta GA, immediatley and she said she remembered me and told me "you did not owe us anything when you left and you never even got a signed lease and I will forward that to you via your email and I will correct anything that was placed on your credit report".
She never sent anything and for days when I called her at her business number of 404-835-5771 all I got was "all circuits are busy".
This Company/Owner Vista REALTY Partners out of Atlanta GA owns Bay Harbor and they are total crooks. They feel above the law and they REFUSE TO SEND COPIES OF LEASES AND THEN FALSLEY MAKE STATEMENTS TO CREDIT AGENCIES AND WILL NOT PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION.
THIS NOTICE IS SO THE PUBLIC IS MADE AWARE AND NEEDS TO PROTECT THEMSELVES AND ALL MONIES THEY LEAVE AS SECURITY DEPOSITS AND PET DEPOSITS AS WELL AS WHAT THEY SIGN AS THEY WILL NOT BE PROVIDED THAT TO THEMSELVES.
