Mr Acosta, first appeared professional and a good company, but this was so far from the truth.
To explain as briefly as possible, i was moving from LA to NYC. I had 4 companies come and view my items for a quote- after much thought i decided to go with best choice delivery. WRONG CHOICE.
I wanted my items delivered by 2nd july 2011. So i asked greg when he would like to pick up the items to ensure that would happen. I gave him all the time in the world to get organized and delivery my things.
He said he would pick them up on 23rd june and be delivered on time within a three day window. I thought no problem.
He picked up my things, he seemed to pick up my things fine. As he left he handed me his business card and said if i ever wanted an update to call.
A week went by with no news and it was only 3 more days to delivery, so i called him. He let it slip that it hadn’t even left LA yet. I was initially understanding- but when you are on the phone with Greg, he is the type of fellow who will not let your speak and bombard you with excuses, that everything is ok and ill get my things.
So i wrote him an email explaining that i was concerned about my delivery and that i would expect compensation if it was late. this upset up. he found my email rude and never has he been spoken to that way. I would HAPPILY supply anyone that emailI however did not know the true situation.
I will jump ahead as i could explain the finer details but this will be way too long.
The delivery date came and went- and i started having problems reaching greg. He would not answer his phone or emails. He avoid me- and i did not know where my things were. Then the couple of times we got through to him, he gave me some excuses why it was late- and it was coming- but no lock in dates. nothing. THEN he went awol. 2 out of his 3 phones were disconnected. He has 3 address that he attaches to his business. We had to work out one of those is a storage company and called the storage company in LA to see if my things were hiding there.
ALL the time i left messages, very kind, then desperate, then begging. one i left while in tears. Again such a heartless person as he still never called back. I called police, got the better business bureau involved and the FMCSA. i also had to get a law clerk involved. Greg was not responding and i had NO idea where my things were and it was now 3 weeks late. it was only once i made these inquires into his address and that storage company, that i got am email from a new unknown person called daniel, with a gmail account, saying he has my things and they will leave LA soon. All they while they claimed it left LA and had to return because of truck problems. i highly doubt thats true. Anyway- daniel would not tell me where my things were, his full name, his company, nor his contact number. SO Dodgy!
i again was fed a whole lot of lies and false promises on dates. i knew it was sitting in LA some where and by this point it was 40 days late and i needed some medication from one of the boxes. they would not allow me access, even though i begged.
finally it was delivered 50 days late.
there is NO exaggeration in this. yes its my side of the story, but i received no compensation. Not all my things showed up too. my book shelf was SMASHED! Greg acosta i believed has lost his interstate licence. but can still do local deliveries. He also starts to get a bad reputation then opens up shop under a new business name. I would not recommend this company or this guy to move your things. He is a crook. Very rude and very unprofessional. I do not wish him well. And a respectful business owner can admit a mistake, and i can certainly understand a delay. But greg and his business did not communicate with me. instead they disappeared. didn’t answer my calls or emails, and left me in the dark, believing my items were stolen.
