I ordered a couple of items and used my credit card to pay. About an hour later, I got an email with the following:

"Your recent payment has been received for sales order. However, your order has been placed on hold by our address verification system. This has occurred either because the billing address you have registered with Bidz.com does not match with the billing address on your credit card statement, the amount of your order is greater than any previous order or combined orders or you are an International customer and due to privacy laws your credit card company does not release information to third party callers.

This procedure is in place to protect both our customers and ourselves from fraud. As most fraudulent transactions are from stolen credit cards without the correct billing address, this system helps us prevent fraud.

This may also apply to PayPal payments.

For your protection we need a faxed or emailed copy of the credit card (front and back) used to make this payment along with a copy of a government-issue ID (front and back), such as a driver's license or passport. To ensure safety, please block out all of the numbers on your credit card EXCEPT the last four digits. Please be sure the copy is legible, and includes your name, billing address, invoice number, username, and phone number.

Please send your verification information via fax or e-mail to:

FAX: 310-760-5120 (dial 001-1-310-760-5120 if outside the US/Canada)
EMAIL:

Within the United States and Canada, you may also contact us by phone to fulfill this requirement. Customer service can be reached at (888) 247-2439 8am-5pm PST- 7 days a week.

Please respond immediately as your order will be held until we receive a response from you.

Thank you,

Fraud Prevention Department

If the addresses didn't match, then how was it approved at the time of purchase, it would have been declined. Right?? I'm not faxing or emailing this info to anyone.
