Bonaventure Senior Living NEVER WORK FOR THIS COMPANY Salem, Oregon

I have too had the unfortunate experience of being an Executive Director for Bonaventure Senior Living. It was the worst experience I have had in my 20 years of management. First of all the company provides NO training at all. Your first day there they are asking for reports when you have not even been introduced to the company's web site. Pam Gray is a MONSTER and is impossible to please with unrealistic expectations. Pam likes to brag about the fact that she works all the time. She even states how her family complains about the amount of hours she works. I feel sorry for her children. What kind of mother puts their work ahead of their own family. She also expects her ED's to put their jobs ahead of their family as well. If you accept an ED job at Bonaventure you can expect 13-14 hour days, 7 days a week. Your family will suffer. I don't mind the CEO except I have not respect for him. He is weak and allows his monster of a COO Pam Gray to run the show. He states that he is available to the employees, however when you set up a meeting with him, he either cancels or ask you to meet with Pam instead. HELLO Kelly, Pam is the main problem. After talking to several ED's and employees you wouldn't believe the complaints they have against Pay Gray. After 3 months I was finally sent to training. While at training there were 11 new Executive Directors, they only have 30 properties. The prior training 3 months prior there were 9 new ED's. They have a 92% turn over rate for ED's. The main issue with this company is Pam Gray. She will fire your staff on the spot all because she doesn't like their personality or they answered the phone wrong. There marketing program consists of harassing the elderly who have inquired about the property. They are called the first day after, 3 day 7th, 10th day 14th day, 21st day and every 2 weeks after that for the next 5 years. Even if people ask to be taken off your call list, Pam won't allow you. She states that we are helping people, no Pam your harassing them and you don't care about helping anyone or anything but the bottom line. The pay is somewhat decent, but by the time you add up all the hours you work, you are basically making minimum wage. DO not take a job at this company. I loved the job and many of the people at the home office, however Pam Gray is a monster and she will suck every bit of dignity and self confidence out of you. It is in the companies best interest to get rid of her. If she weren't a part of the company I would probably return, however not a chance while she is there. I saw things that were absolutely scarey. You work with a skeleton staff and the residents are not given the care they deserve. The staff that you do have are so over worked that mistakes are made like giving the wrong medication to the wrong resident or not giving the residents their medication at all. It's not that the caregivers don't care. They are just short staffed and overworked. All Pam Gray cares about is the bottom line. She humiliates and de-moralizes the ED's and their staff. The best word I have for her is EVIL. When she is at your facility she spends absolutely no time talking with the residents and walks around like she is all that and more. She doesn't have time to talk to the residents to many staff and managers to de-moralize and fire. DO NOT WORK FOR THIS COMPANY. I learned the hard way
