We came home from vacation only to get a call from our employer who said she had an official sounding message on HER answering machine. It was late and so the next day we listened, horrified by the fact that this "law firm" would disclose personal information to an answering machine that wasn't even ours. We contacted the number and my husband spoke to a woman who refused to give her name, and would only say that we owed a debt of 330.00 to a crediter from an online pay day loan company; the ending charge was 757.00 to be paid immediately, or by 4pm. When we told this woman who only identified herself as the "Lead investigater in Fraud department" that we could not accept debt collection calls at work, she said that they could contact our employers if they so chose to do so and that if we didn't pay our debt like right now!, that we would have our wages garnished.
This company left 2 seperate messages on our employers phone. My employer called this number and told them herself that we could not recieve phone calls at work, she was promptly hung up on. I called this company and told the woman that we have never taken out a online payday loan, but she wasn't hearing any of it. She told me that if I wasn't calling to make restitution, that she had nothing further to say to me and then I was hung up on. This woman claimed that my husbands ex wife (my boss) had called and was trying to get personal information...a lie. My husband has never been married before me. these people want money right now!!! or else they are going to take you to trial, send you to jail, garnish your wages....ya da ya da
