We recently moved into a new home in Forney, TX, just down the street from our current addrss. Upon attempting to transfer our existing cable/internet service of Suddenlink to our new home we found out that this particular neighborhood and one other neighborhood in Forney is under contract with Connextions. Normally this would be just fine, but the problem is this contract is ages old, and the company, knowing that no other company in the area can gain customers, has spent no money on upgrading their equipment and services and also is gouging the customers with prices.
The areas involved are Mustang Creek and Windmill Farms. The current price I pay for 10 Mb speed internet is about $55.00. The price with Connextions is $50 for 3 Mb speed. This is utterly ridiculous. They offer a double service (where you MAY get boosts of speed at times up to 6 Mb) for $77 dollars. My current company offers 20 Mb speed for $85. This is CLEAR price gouging. Also they offer cable services. Their plan for $65 HD/DVR includes all their HD channels which is only 13 HD channels. Compared to any other company this is a complete joke. I have 50-100 HD channels with Suddenlink. Dish offers up to 200 HD channels. This is CLEARLY a monopoly and price gouging at the same time. It is NOT right and this contract should be voided and Suddenlink or ATT U-verse (companies that serve Forney around these neighborhoods) should be allowed to service these areas.
I have spoken with people in the neighborhoods and everyone has to use Dish because they all agree that Connextions is horrible. On top of everything already mentioned, there website is completely worthless. It has online ordering forms, which do not work, prices do not accurately update, clicking order actually doesn't work at all. The contact page contains only a phone number, and PO Box. There is a contact form in the foot which doesn't work. The support page, only links you to the contact page and tells you to send an email, in which there is no email other than the contact form, which doesn't work (404 error)! What a joke! People are forced to use an inferior service that is way overpriced and this should NOT be the case.
At the least their services should be upgraded and pricing, to MATCH competitors or at least come close. At this point they are way overpriced and way behind on technology and services. We are very unhappy, especially since we are moving into a new home and hoped to be upgrading from our existing living situation or at least getting what we currently have. I am highly disatisfied with this company and the practices. I understand they are in contract and they are a business and need to make money...but I expect this from larger corporations that don't care..not local, small businesses like this. I myself run a small business and have for 18 years. I treat my customers with respect and as if they were as smart as I am in my own business. I don't insult people with ridiculous practices or services or pricing, treating them how I would want to be treated if I were the customer. This company clearly cares only for money, and nothing about people!

I too have this same problem and have been disgusted with it for YEARS!!! I had an incident with them recently (November 2011) that really hacked me off and now I want something done about this. The only difference between you and I is that I live in Fate in the Melody Ranch neighborhood. I get ads from At&T all the time saying that I can receive their service now and every time I try to get their service, one of AT&T's technicians says the same thing..."The lines are still owned by FEC/CNEXT and they will not allow us to use our equipment. I'm sorry, but I can't hook up your service today." You are right, this is a MONOPOLY and PRICE GOUGING, their service sucks (internet and cable), their pricing for every service is waaaaay over priced and even their customer service sucks! I'm willing to team up with anybody to get this "contract" thing null and void!
