When they "finished" the project (running into the evening because of poor planning) they put some filthy bricks on top of the boards, presumably to help them stay down. I happened to move one of the bricks and realized they had strategically placed them to cover up areas of particularly shoddy workmanship.

When I could see the floor in the light of day, it was worse than I expected.Boards are popping up everywhere. The job looks like it was completed by an amature and is completely unacceptable. I will have to pay someone else to come back and fix the floor.He wasted a day of my time, all the materials and several hundred dollars. Upon bringing it to his attention, he lied about various aspects of the job (e.g., "the boards were warped") and made personal attacks.

This man is simply untrustworthy.
