David Guay
David Guay watch out this handyman clearwater, Florida
16th of Jan, 2011 by User578382
I had a babysitter. Her name is Julie. I was very satisfied with her. I know her boyfriend(now her husband), David Guay is a handyman. I asked her how he is doing. Julie said that he has been out of work for a long time, it has been so slow, there has been no much work since housing market crashed in FL.I was very sorry for his situation. My husband and I decided to use David one day to put some dry walls up $150 for a day rate. While he was cutting the wood, his finger tips got cut off. My husband warned him " watch out your finger, it is too close"Later he used this when he claimed against my home owner's insurance, he was distracted by my husband's talking. I remember he was saying that he has been a handy man over 20 years and but how careless he was. Actually he showed up in flip flop, shorts and short t-shirts. Did you ever see any construction worker or handyman working in flip flop? It surely shows his work ethics and illiterate in safety.

After the incident, I talked to Julie. She was happy that she was told from doctor that the damage wasn't severe, he won't need any surgery and the flesh will heal and grow. so I didn't much thought on the insurance claim. These couple got enough money from this claim. I believe that she is making about more or less $30,000 as a preschool teacher at Montessori in St.pete and her boyfriend has not been working over a year. They both don't have any health insurance. They hired a lawyer and they got $10,000 for medical cost and they got another $10,000 for wage lost. Doctor looking at his finger, sanitizing and giving some painkillercost $10,000. what a bullsh*!

He hasn't been working for a long time, how he can have wage lost claim. All of sudden, he had jobs and he claimed signed papers that his work has been lined up, and because of this finger damage, he has not been able to work ...that sort of bullsh*. I think his friends or people he knowsjust signed the papers.

when I heard this, I couldn't believe these people.

My advice from anyone who reads this "Never hire a handy man who doesn't have his own insurance. and make a contract with your handyman that all incidents are on his liability.
