DEC software Deca Soft, DEC software is a huge scam artist, Teachers BEWARE!!!! Internet

Watch out for DEC Software!!! (makers of the Ultimate Quiz Show, Concentration, The Strongest Link, Classroom Millionaire, No Whammies, Tic Tac Dough) These guys are thieves!!! All of these programs are locked into "ACTIVATION keys" and if anything changes on your computer and the activation keys go awry, They WILL NOT HELP YOU!!!!! These programs are fairly expensive, and now I am stuck with empty pockets and no software to show for it. Beware this company!!! DEC software would NOT send me new activation codes when 3 of their educational software
programs that I bought in March stopped working in May when I had to install a new system board on my computer. I bought The Ultimate Quiz Show, Concentration and Puzzlequest to use with my students to review information that we had covered in class and now all 3 of those games are USELESS!!! BEWARE of this scam company. They are slow to stand behind their product and very fast at taking your money. They made it clear to me that their time is much more valuable than my time when their very own software gets buggy or goes awry. DO NOT do business with this company unless you want to throw your hard earned money away. They are a bunch of thieves and scoundrels. You would think that people who produce educational software for kids would be trustworthy, but they are not. You can go to their site and read the disdain that they have for customers who have requested tech help in the past that haven't met "their" standards of how a call for help to their tech dept should go. They are clearly antagonistic to customer service, but they are GREAT at taking your cash.

I agree with user 805115 on several points. BUYER BEWARE when dealing with DEC Software. I wouldn't go as far as to say they are thieves, just under qualified software designers and very lacking in business skills. more concerned that someone might pirate their "less than good" product(s) than quality control.

I purchased a "classroom mega suite" package of software in december of 2010. i had already downloaded the demo versions & tried them. i was very sad that the programs were so poorly designed & cumbersome to operate. very amateur looking screens and awkward. unfortunately i could find no other software on the market offering the titles i wanted so i bought the package. after jumping through the "don't steal me" hoops to activate the 5 titles in the pkg i started working with the "unlocked" versions. 2 of the 5 titles had annoying "bug" issues (not able to be seen in demo) and 1 title, (puzzlequest), was impossible to play properly, ie; "read errors" all over the place and it never would show scores. when trying to use the "bonus square" (like secret square on hollywood squares) feature on the "tic tac dough" game, the game freezes up mandating a re-boot. 2 of the titles i didn't really want so i haven't tried them. especially after the problems i was already having.

i contacted dec software (dan) regarding the problem with puzzlequest. he informed me that puzzlequest was their "least popular" title and therefore they hadn't done any revisions to fix bugs, nor were they planning on fixing it. hmmm, why was it for sale if it didn't work? the problem didn't show up in demo so why in the "unlocked" version running on the same pc?

dan did offer to trade me for another title but i was displeased with the quality of their work and not interested in any other games they had to offer.

i paid around $35 per title. that's a great price if it was good software, it's not. $5 is too much for these products in my opinion. i found another source for similar "gameshow" type software and paid $139.00- bargain!! great software, user friendly, professional looking screens, quality sounds and NO bugs. this company spent their time building a quality & professional looking product instead of building against someone copying the game.

dec has an awesome idea. i truly wish they would put out a quality product that works right, looks good and is easier for a moderator/host to operate and fill with questions/data
