Direct Air Airlines Cancelled Flights without Compensation Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

On Jan 8, 2011 purchased two roundtrip tickets to fly on May 13. On April 23rd received phone call that the flights were cancelled by corporate offices of Direct Air Airlines. No explanation for the cancellation, our money will be refunded....today is May 9 and still no money. Had to book new flights on shorter notice with different airline for $400 more. Direct Air does not have any way to contact them other than email! Can't talk to anyone from corporate that can give you immediate assistance or answers. They have no concept of working in a timely fashion except to cancell flights. We live on a fixed income and don't do much traveling so this trip was very important to us. We haven't seen our military son in well over a year and a half. They have no regard to keeping customers happy. This has put us in a financial turmoil. Never again will I ever try to book another flight with this company. So word to the wise...Beware of Direct Air!! This should be their new slogan.

I had 2 tickets to fly out of SPI to Lakeland on flight D1 - 7771 on Thursday June 30th and it was continually delayed from 4:30, 6:30, 8:30, 10:30 and then cancelled until 6 am on Saturday. Then after we stayed in a hotel and got up at 330 to be on the 4 am shuttle then tell us when we get there it is delayed again and the plane hasn't left Florida. Then people that got through told us they were telling them it was leaving at 10:30. So we waited until then and then showed up and the people who had gotten through to Direct Air told us that there was no plan for when it was to come. Then we called several times and couldn't get through to Direct Air. Only after checking the website did we see that it was delayed out to 11:30 PM flight. We called several times again no answer. There was no representatives from Direct Air to tell us anything in Springfield. At this point our vacation plans were completely inconceivable. So we had to make the tough decision to cancel our plans as to everything Direct Air has told us to this point was a lie and they had no explanations for anything. So after cancelling our rental car and hotel, we left. My girlfriend and I called for 2 hours straight to the Direct Air customer service number. Finally getting through we ended up getting disconnected once, then got a hold of someone to have them only tell us they can't help us and to call the Lakeland Direct Air number. Then after talking to them they told us to call the main customer service number. After they played this game several times we finally got told the only way to get our tickets refunded or get ANYONE to help us was to email. I am hoping that this awful experience doesn't happen to all your customers, but also I want some sort of resolution to come to me. I would like a refund of my tickets in full because the bad taste of "the Direct Air experience" has yet to leave my mouth. "When time matters is their logo?" Complete scam... Here is the details. I had the exact experience with Direct Air only a different date (August). I have just had my flight from Springfield to Lakeland cancelled for Sept 12. No explanation and have not received my refund. This is a terrible airlines. They do not own any planes. They charter only. The employees have no clue what is going on. It is impossible to get any information on the phone. DO NOT BUY TICKETS . THIS IS A SCAM.
