I enlisted Ethos 360 in Portland to write a business plan. They told me they couldn't accept credit card payments through their website, so the details would need to be sent directly via email. Ethos 360 never had me personally sign any contract before debiting my credit card and at no point was a price breakdown ever provided to justify the insanely high cost of the product. They deducted 2 very large installments of money (50% before any work was commenced and 50% after delivering the foundation draft in watermarked PDF format). The document contained blatant mistakes, errors, and omissions of crucial sections that any standard business plan should have. The financial model was complete nonsense which catered to an entirely different company, product and niche than the one we operate. Their Year 1 projections had us running us into the ground so badly (by failing to account for several key facts and streams of revenue) that any investor would have just waved a hand at this "business plan" and passed it off as a big joke. The draft also didn't take into account our specific niche market, nor did it mention any of the previous product sales data or company history that we spent a great many hours researching for the Ethos 360 consultants. Alarmed at the poor writing and very low quality of the draft in general, I sent Ethos 360 a list of fixes and revisions. According to their Terms & Conditions the services includes a 30 day revision period (which contradicts the verbal 21 period they keep referring to). I didn't hear from anyone at Ethos 360 in over three weeks. On the 25th or 26th of October 2011, I saw that the Ethos 360 website and social media sites (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc.) suddenly disappeared off the Internet without any warning whatsoever. Subsequent media reports have revealed that the people behind Ethos 360, namely Ellisa Brenneman and Karl Christian Brenneman, are scammers and criminals. They closed the company overnight on the 24th October, 2011 without any warning whatsoever. They didn't deliver business plans the firm was working on and fled Oregon with thousands dollars of their clients' money. In fact, the Brennemans never gave any advance warning or post-closure notification to their clients that the firm shut down. To make matters 100 times worse, in their final days of operation, Ethos 360 continued to debit their client' credit cards without having any intention of delivering the promised business plans in their completed states. Karl Christian Brenneman has had prior mail fraud charges placed against him in 2005, after an FBI investigation . Christian Brenneman used the fake name "Avery Whitfield" back then to defraud his clients for fake loans -- just as he did while working at Ethos360 in Oregon, writing fake business plans under the pseudonym "Ray Spears". See the following article for further details: http://blog.oregonlive.com/complaintdesk/2011/10/customers_nationwide_upset_aft.html Despite claiming insolvency in Oregon, Ellisa Brenneman has since moved to Miami (a state popular with debtors on the run, due to its lenient bankruptcy laws) and re-registered "Ethos 360 LLC" in Florida: http://www.florida-annual-report.com/ethos-360-llc.html In addition, she also registered a new business plan writing service called "Business Battle Plans, Inc." in Florida, mere days after the closure of Ethos 360 in Oregon: http://www.florida-annual-report.com/business-battle-plans-inc.html She obviously intends on starting afresh in a new state to continue running her scam business on new victims. Ellisa Brenneman recently tried to cover her tracks by changing the Registered Agent on the "Business Battle Plans Inc" to another person called "Dean Parsons", who appears to be involved with the company Ebapro Inc. (or could be another fake identity): http://www.florida-annual-report.com/ebapro-inc.html I consulted a lawyer who said that these people appear to be professional fraudsters who knew what they were doing all along. They basically set up Ethos 360 LLC so that it had three owners: another LLC, a Corporation, and an individual (Mike Peterson). Meaning that not one, but three Corporate Veils would need to be pierced to even attempt suing these bottom-dwelling scum. A very costly excercise that would really only be feasible as a class action lawsuit. Ethos 360 also trades as Ebapro, Inc. The Brennemans know how to evade the system and how to get away with it, so hopefully any future clients considering using their services will find the names of these thieves and their illicit business practices all over the search engines when conducting their due dilligence and refuse to give them any business or hard-earned money. Just remember the names Christian Brenneman, Ellisa Brenneman, Mike Peterson, and Dean Parsons. Avoid their new company "Business Battle Plans" and any other business plan writing firms (or unrelated companies) they are associated with now in the future.
