Freedom Enterprises Kirby Vacuum Pelham, AL questionable sales tactics, too comfortable in my house, wore out their welcome, ate my food without askin
23rd of Nov, 2011 by User786948
A young lady came to our door with an Alabama team souvenir as a gift, asking only to show us a product, and it would only take a few minutes of our time. My wife consented, and the lady went back to her vehicle. However, another lady returned to the door with the Kirby Vacuum. She began the demo and a third woman, a trainee, also came in. I work from home and our child was home, as well as my wife, because school was out. Within thirty minutes, it seems that the two ladies adequately demonstrated the cleaning power of the vacuum. Even so, the lady who was experienced insisted on demonstrating how it could clean our beds, and shampoo our carpet. This seemed to take longer than usual. We were sold on the product, but the demonstration continued. Finally, we were shown some figures on paper, and I balked at the cost and payments. Anyone who does not understand all the ins and outs of finance agreements and negotiating could have been taken at this point, however, I was not. The lady called her boss to ask about deals. The boss gave a figure that I rejected. So, when the lady hung up, I was under the impression that the boss would call back. In a few minutes, he came knocking on my door. We talked sale prices, trade-ins, payments, terms and interest. The boss did everything on the up and up. However, when I went out to my garage, I noticed the original lady who came to our door inside their vehicle in my driveway. That struck me odd. It was also odd how all the ladies just came and went inside and out. We were asked if we had windex, for demo purposes, and my wife went to the laundry room, with the sales lady tailing her. While my wife looked for the windex, the sales lady began opening cabinets and looking, which is pretty presumptuous. I also noticed while the boss was dialing in the sale to the finance company, the same sales lady took some candy from our candy jar without asking. The first lady, who was in the car, came in and asked for ice to refresh her drink, which was not a problem. The other ladies also asked for something to drink, and my wife complied. In all, the team was there for three hours. It seemed like a wear down tactic, and I suppose when we didnt jump at the first try, they continued. However, I will not be obligated to buy something I dont want, and if push came to shove, I would have asked them to leave. The boss' demeanor probably saved the sale. I also found it odd that the phone number of Freedom Enterprises was not on the contract, but the sales lady and her boss wrote down phone numbers for us. Neither was the phone number listed for this business. Perhaps they were cell phones, but the numbers were for states other than Alabama. That also seemed odd. Overall, we began to think our house was being checked out for a future burglary, and the longer they lingered, the more nervous we became.
