Global Vacations Free vacation/Free Walmart gift Card What a laugh! Ann Arbor, Michigan
23rd of Jan, 2011 by User571173
Received a post card that we had won a free trip for two to a Hyatt resort AND a FREE giftcard for either Walmart or Target. All we had to do is show up for a presentation on the Global Vacation network. Called and scheduled appointment. Gal making the appointment said" Wow this gift certificate to Walmart will really come in handy for the Christmas holidays" Arrived on time for the presentation; however, presentation started late and we were picked out of the crowd by a sales rep and asked if we wanted to meet with him rather than sit thru the presentation since they had more people show up and not enough sales reps. Met with rep and he asked which of us had told the other on the way to the presentation "we are not buying anything no matter what". He said if you are here just for the free gifts, this interview is over. He gave us the paperwork for the "free trip" but said the gift certificates had not arrived yet by Fed Ex and they would mail it as soon as they came in.

After waiting for two weeks we called the Ann Arbor office about the "free" gift certificate. We were given another person and number to call; when we reached him he said he didnt' know what we were talking about and we had to call the Ann Arbor office! Called Ann Arbor again; amazingly, she found the file and said "Gee you have been waiting a long time, I will mail it today". Received the "free" gift certificate a few days later. We have to pay an activation fee of $15.95 and then when we spend $100, send in the receipts to receive a $20 gift card! It would take us three years to get the "FREE" gift certificate!

We have attended timeshare presentations in the past but never encountered the amount of lies and deception that this company uses in its marketing.
