What a nightmare this company is! Should have known what we were getting into when our now defunct, lying mortgage broker led us to the table. Her projected 7000$ closing costs ended up being 22,000$ on closing day. She put us right into the hands of this company. I wish we had never bought a home. She lsot her business in town. Just closed doors soon after.


For those of you waiting or thinking of re-modifying the loan with IndyMac/OneWest, it will never happen. Google them. You will see. Since day one, they have made our lives miserable. We attempted to remodify, as well. We got the same runaround BS that all else did. They lose your paperwork, don't return calls, avoid your calls, take the "trial period" payments and tell you no. There is a loophole in the new HAMP and govt programs that allow OneWest customers to avoid being helped. IndyMac/OneWest WANTS to foreclose on your home. If they foreclose on you, they make back 80 to 95% of your original loan amount through FDIC insurance. Then, they sell your home and make money on that. Plus, they sue you for the difference in sale price AND loan amount. They make a killing 3 times and it is estimated that OneWest paid about 25 cents on the dollar to buy your loan when IndyMac went belly-up.


Did you know that IM/OW is owned by 2 men... One is the owner of Dell computers. The 2nd, is George Soros, multi billionaire friend of Obama, foe of Fox. Soros was the NUMBER ONE contributor to Obama's campaign. Ironic then that he makes so much money and has government insurance while posting record profits? I don't think so. Wish I had never voted Obama. IndyMac is now just a debt collection agency, not the mortgage company. One West owns us.


We are now in the process of bankruptcy filing, in an attempt to hold onto our home and are going to have the lawyer look at the mortgage papers. They are frauds. We have a fixed rate yet...they raise our payments every year for whatever reason or another. It is a 80/20. Started off at just under 1100$ a month, went to 1300 or so, today, AFTER we started bankruptcy papers and they were notified...we received notice that our payments would now equal 1585$ a month. WTH? It is all confusing. They raise rates based on escrow requirements, "projected" property tax increases (we haven't had one yet and our home has lost value) and mortgage insurance. Before, it was homeowners tax increases. We have never even filed a claim. When the wind blows, our mortgage payments increase.


When we were late on sending payments, they would show up and knock loudly on our door with some goon from god knows where. He wanted to know why we were late. If we didn't answer, he left behind a OneWest door hanger. Other times, they would send someone out to take photos of our home, front, back and side. They would often leave notes saying the home was vacant (it never looked vacant) and telling us to call. They showed ON my neighbor's property, taking photos of the neighbor's homes and ours, obviously attempting to embarrass us into paying faster. It worked. The neighbors would call about strangers on their lawn. They use disgusting fear tactics and even scared my 12 year old half to death knocking when she was alone that morning.


Now, headed for bankruptcy court, I am scared we are doing the wrong thing. I don't even want this house anymore. No landlord or rental contract was ever like this. They are bullies, thugs, liars and theives. If you get an offer to finance through them, RUN, do not walk. I know there are many class action suits against IndyMac right now. I wish we were suing them or had a pit bull legal arm to go after them. Even our contract with them is unsigned (the copies they gave to us) I don't even know who owns them. If they foreclose on you, make them prove they hold the deed, too. I despise this company. If they are raising it to 1585 on the eve of the court date, they can shove this house up...
