My recent Master card bill arrived with a charge of $99.90 US ($100.05 CAD) from a company named 'INSTALL2ENJOY' from Baku AZE (Azerbaijan, near the Caspian Sea) At first I thought it was an internet porn site because of the name. The transaction date was May 20th yet it was not posted as a charge until May 23rd. Well, this is a scam and someone is certainly enjoying our money now!
My husband had unwittingly gave his MC number after being offered online protection from and removal of a virus that blacked out his screen and rendered his computer and AVG virus protection useless. It all started when he clicked on a pop-up that led to another one, thinking he was to view a sports article. Then came the blank or black? screen. The fee was to be @ $39. but after this 'company' had his information, the displayed 'receipt' was for $99.90 US. Apparently the Mastercard chip card when used online does NOT require the use of the password. :-(
I wonder if this virus is like the old time-limited bunny rabbit that would run across the computer screen. (and would go away by itself???) Guess I need to look into whether this 'virus' is possibly active/dormant on his laptop or was only connected to clicking on a pop-up that simulates a virus response.
We are in the process of disputing this charge with BMO Mastercard. They were unaware of this scam. And just a reminder, never give out any unsolicited private and financial information.

I also gave my credit card information...when I had a virus...now my computer is saying there is no spyware for it and here I thought I was all protected! I am so mad!
