I saw Instant Tax Service's Ad on T.V. Their commercial stated that EVERYONE would walk out with a check. No matter what your credit was! I thought that was pretty cool so I went to their office. After looking at my paperwork, they said I only qualified for $50. The guy doing it secretly told me everyone was only qualifying for $50 even though their commercial says up to $1000. Then they gave me a Insight debit card with the $50 on it. They said that the fee for their instant cash service and a refund anticipation loan was only $39.95 for both! I thought that was very reasonable, so I accepted the card and signed the paperwork. Then they told me to come back in on January 13th so that they could process the Refund anticipation loan which could be up to $1000.00 and the guy said your refund anticipation loan will probably at least $1000.00 because your refund is so big, so I signed the papers on the 13th and was then told after signing that the fee for doing this was $455.00! YES $455.00! She said that there was a $250.00 preparation fee and another $255.00 bank fee. I was very upset so the lady took $50 off making it $405.00, but she said she could not stop it and thatmy return wasalready filed with the IRS. She promised that I would receive a RAL (Refund Anticipation Loan) within 24 hours...at the most 48 hours. That was the 14th of January 2011. Now it is the 19th and I have NOT received the RAL. I called Instant Tax Service on the 15th, 16th of January, and was told because of Martin Luther King Day it was taking longer than expected. Now on the 19th they are telling me that I did not get accepted for RAL. This was never even brought up when doing the original paperwork. I then asked for a refund of the loan fees and was told they do not give refunds.She said that the bank is holding up the RAL's and thatmost of people have not got them that have applied with them.I did finally get through to a recording with the Insight company (this is the debit card that I have been told that the RAL and my refund will go on) Iwas told on a recording that myreturn has been accepted, but that I will not receive my refund foruntil the 28th now. Shoot, if I would have known this, I would have didmy own taxes and got them back in the same amount of time. I would NOT have paid $405.00 of my hard earned tax money! WHAT A SCAM!!!!This company should not promise money in 24 hours. They do NOT come through. THEY LIE!!!
Now I am worried that I will not even receive my refund and that maybe this is a total scam and they stole mywhole refund! I am going to call the Attorney General's office and go further with it.I did callthe IRS directlyand they told me that my return was accepted, but that the return is scheduled to be directly deposited in Urban bank which is Insight Debit cards bank and that they can not stop it as this point. They said if I signed the paperwork then it is up to me to try to get the refund from that bank.They said to call them back after 14 days if I never receive my refund and they will put in a report about the bank, but that isall they can do. Whycan't I get through to customer service at Insight which is the debit card company?Everytime I try that number it just goes to a busy signal. Something is wrong and fishy here.God...please don't let them take my refund....you don't know how desperately I need that money.
Please do NOT do business with this company. They mislead you, lie right to your face, have you sign everythingTHEN theytell you about how high their fees are. They are robbing the POOR people of Florida!Please pray for me that I will get my refund that I desperately need.This place is a scam.This companyshould be ashamedfor hurting innocent peoplelike this! Taking their money and getting rich while hurting people!
If a lawyer would like to start a class action suit of people who went to Instant Tax Service on colonial Drive in Orlando, FL and paid HIGH HIGH fees and were lied to, please contact me! I would join a suit against this company in a minute!
