I booked a four-hour, three winery tour for 3/21/11 and pre-payment in full with a credit card was required at that time, $130. Three hours prior to the start of the tour, the owner called my hotel and left a message with the desk clerk (he had my cell phone number, so I infer he was trying to avoid speaking with me in person) that due to a family emergency, he was cancelling the tour. Additionally, he has a NO REFUND policy, and would not return my money. I called him back and he continuously repeated his "no refund" policy, and then hung up on me. He has not replied to a follow-up e-mail either. Therefore, he did not provide the service promised, and he has kept my money. I reside more than 260 miles from Dubuque and do not have the resources nor the desire to return to the area again. I want my money refunded to my credit card.

We at Iowa Wine Tours, Inc. would like you to know the whole story. On 8/23/2010 the customer booked a wine tour for 2 . The tour was scheduled for 9/26/2010. Before we charged her credit card in the amount of $130 for the tour, we told her that we have a no refund policy for all scheduled tours and she agreed to those terms. The night before the tour was to take place she cancelled. We turned away several other people that wanted to take the tour that day because we told them we were booked and you can never get them back, because they have already found another area attraction . Out of good faith, we offered her a chance to come back and take the tour in the future and she told me she would let me know when could do that. She called months later and scheduled a tour for 3/21/2011. We had a family emergency 3/21/2011 and were forced to cancel the tour. We refunded the customer $130.
