Majestic Equine Rescue
Majestic Equine Rescue Foundation- Deanna Bishop are lieing frauds that send horses to kill auctions Mount Vernon, Ohio
18th of May, 2011 by User733678
Deanna Bishop is nothing but a liar and fraud. She claims to be a horse rescue that is against horse slaughter. However her herself ordered a horse that was fund raised forand was pulled from the Camelot kill pen 4-13-2011 back to Camelot Kill auction in N.J. So is she going to refund everyone the money? She only got $250.00 from auction and she had fund raised for way more then that with buying from the acution, transportation to the Qt farm and Qting for 30 days. She never seen the horse in person. She made the judgment of the horse to go back to slaughter on the word of a shipper that showed up to try and catch the horse that did not know the shipper and kicked out at them. Thus she deemed the horse a dangerous killer that would hurt the children that are in programs at the rescue. She has no programs. She has no kids coming out. She is a scam. Her mission statements claim they work with all types of animals and she herself has spoken out against other rescues that could not take in a un-handle able horse. But instead of asking for help from someone to take the horse she told the shipper to take the mare straight to Camelot for that nights auction. I personally think she did this because she does not have a farm and there was no one to step and take this horse into foster and she was stuck. She posts on the rescue web page and all over face book about other rescues and bashing them for not doing this that or the other thing.. She is the first to judge and jump on a soap box and most times posts out complete lies about others thinking she is queen of the day. She has been involved with other slaughter brokers herself as a transporter of slaughter animals and when they cut her out of the money she turned around and all of a sudden opened a rescue and started talking out against them. Do not give this woman money or your horses. She will just ship them to kill auction. from her face book page
Deanna Bishop
Majestic Equine Rescue Foundation has just found out that Charmed One will not be coming to the rescue. She has been throughly abused and is unsafe people. She looks great in the field and the pasture. But she will attack you if you get to close to her. It is with great disappointment that The B.O.D for Majestic has decided NOT to take the horse. We can not as a business take in a horse that is dangerous to the people who work here or for the children who come to visit.

Deanna Bishop Yes she is Dianne. I can not in good faith bring her around people. I have to think about the safety of the people who come here and we have to protect the children.

Kristin Sorrentino I hate to say this but in good faith if the horse has these bad issues ...wouldn't it be better to put her down than rather someone getting really hurt.

Dianne Engleke I understand, and that may explain how she wound up at an auction in the first place. Sad.

Deanna Bishop I have not physically touched her. I am going bye what I was told by the QT facility and by the transporter. It took her over an hour to catch the horse and she tried to double barrel her on several occasions.

Kristin Sorrentino IT IS ASHAME SOMEONE HAS DONE THIS TO THIS ANIMAL. But it makes me wonder if she was there in the first place because she had issues and someone did the best they could with her being the way she is.

Deanna Bishop I agree whole heartedly. I don't understand how people can abuse/neglect or torture animals. But I have to look at the reality of a 1300 pound horse and what she could do to someone if she ever connected with those feet of hers.

* NOTE: this was a little half linger no way would she even come close to weighing 1300 pds. the horse was eating cookies out a womans hand at the auction. Was a little nervus but no where near being the man killer she is making her out to be. The Mare was also calm in the sales ring wlaked in and backed up when asked.

It is very interesting you would write this without the whole truth put in. Don't take bits and pieces and then try to make people believe you. Here is what you did not put in your story. 1) Camelot has not sent a horse to slaughter since 1999. 2) I was on the phone during the entire auction to make sure the horse had a home. 3) We do have children that come to the farm and those pictures are posted on our fb web page. 4) I will never risk the lives of our children for a horse that is so petrified of people that she will attack people who are trying to feed her. 5) The person who was sent to pick up the mare evaluated that mare and she is a world renown horse trainer. 6) The mare kicked at the trainer and her daughter towards their faces. 7) You are absolutely right, at no point where I risk children's lives for any horse. 8) We bring children with autism to MERF and there was no way this mare was going to kill a child on my watch. 9) The horse never ate any cookies out of anyones hands. She is petrified of people. The only thing that Betty was doing was putting them in a food trough. The mare would not let anyone to touch her. 10) You forgot to mention that the mare was purchased was a private individual while I was on the phone with her. Then decided the mare was to much to deal with and gave her to Helping Hearts Horse Rescue who is also one of the owners of Camelot Weekly. 10) The mare was taken to 9 different foster homes via Helping Hearts Horse Rescue since leaving Camelot. 11) After repeated requests to get the mare some veterinarian care she deserved due to having a cart accident she was in which left the mare in pain and agony for an unknown period of time. Helping Hearts thought she did not need any help. Finally they did have a vet see her because the mare would be fine one moment and then would run away and caused damage to fences in an attempt to escape. 9 foster homes which where approved also sent her away because the horse is dangerous.

I have NEVER dealt with anyone in the slaughter pipeline other than rescuing horses from them. That allegation is ludicrous at best and absolutely not true. I go to many auctions to save horses, as well as craigslist, private owners, and other avenues to purchase abused/neglected/and no longer wanted horses. MERF is proud to help horses, unfortunately not every horse can be saved. Some are beyond help due to what people have done to them. It is not the horses fault, but I will not risk the children we have in our care. People need to accept that as a rescue, we are responsible for much more than horses here. We are responsible for adults, teenagers, children, other horses, and domestic animals. We take our ability to be in the community as responsible horse owners. We do what is right for the people that come to this farm and for our animals.
