Mango’s Tropical Café Great Place (?) This is utterly unacceptable and despicable! It could hardly be more disheartening! New York, New York
27th of Sep, 2011 by User131897
The experience I had at Mango’s Tropical Café was similar to the one stated on a review titled “The worst place in South Beach…and I live in Miami”, and I am certainly very disappointed. Meanwhile, I must admit with honesty that Mango’s is a very entertaining place. Apparently, its entertainment only comes to some kind of end the moment the manager does not like one’s appearance, and that seems to have been what happened to me: he did not like mine. I would never go back there unless I receive an official welcome back invitation, which I am sure I never will. However wonderful Mango’s might be, it is not good enough for me if I am not welcome; there are many other places in South Beach where I can also dance and drink Tequila. While I had enjoyed the times I had spent at Mango’s, I became very upset and shocked with the awful treatment that I received when I was rudely asked to leave the place. The manager of Mango’s is a very merciless and disgraceful individual - he is full of malice. He has no consideration for what someone else feels. He is probably the most selfish and revolting individual I have ever met. Someone else might have a different opinion about him, but I can only go by my impressions. I might also change my mind one day, but this is so far the conclusion I have reached. The old saying “The customer is always right” does not at all seem to appeal to Mango’s, where only the manager always is. Even though that old saying is not always accurate, as there are some situations in which it is virtually impossible to say that the customer is right, such a saying calls for regard and consideration for what the customers feels. At Mango’s, what the customer feels does not make any difference; the manager’s judgment, regardless of how right or wrong it might be, only matters and anything else is irrelevant. The manager of a place like Mango’s should rather be open-minded: full of consideration and sympathy for his customers. The rotten attitude the manager of Mango’s had upon hearing what my feelings were showed exactly the opposite. I must consider the fact that it is necessary for a club manager to have a very strong personality, given that on several occasions he needs to deal with drug-addicts and with alcoholics. On some sort of situations, he has no choice but to be rude. Nevertheless, certain limitations exist and the manager of Mango’s goes far beyond them. In other words, he abuses his authority by awfully ill-treating people that for some reason do not please him. Whenever someone is told to leave a place, a reason must be given to him or her and the reason must be accurate and fair. His or her feelings need to be taken into account – at least, to some extent. Some negotiations should always be available, although all parties – of course, including the customer - must keep their promises. By no means should rudeness and awful treatment for no good reason take place at a business run and attended by civilized human beings. This is utterly unacceptable and despicable! It could hardly be more disheartening!
