Mobile Transport
Mobile Transport, Inc. Held my car hostage for additional $100 over contracted amount Spokane, Washington
1st of May, 2011 by User233246
This company held my car hostage forcing me to pay $100 more than our contracted amount. I felt lucky it was only $100 since it was accruing at $35 a day and they would not deliver it to me until they felt like it. Here is what happened. Mobile Transport told us that our car would be delivered to our home on Friday afternoon and that the driver would be contacting us within an hour to arrange for the drop off. No call came. We called the driver, but he never answered our call. At 10pm we got a call telling us that they had made repeated calls to schedule the drop off but that we did not answer. So they dropped the car with a local delivery company and that we would have to arrange a pickup with them. The caller at 10pm would not tell us who he was or what company he worked for. We explained to him that we had our cell phone with us and turned on all day. Our cell phone had no missed calls and no voice messages regarding our car. On Saturday morning we called the local delivery company. They indicated that they had to make a trip during the morning, but that we could get our car later in the day. We waited around all day on Saturday waiting for a call from them. No call came. We called around 5pm to find out what was going on. The local delivery company told us that we were now going to have to pay additional fees for storage since the car had not been delivered to us. We argured that we should not have to pay additional fees since we were available all day on Friday and Saturday. The local delivery company stated that someone has to pay his fee or he would not deliver the car. He also said that he would not release the car until Mobile Transport contacted him. Needless to say, Mobile Transport did not call him on Sunday. On Monday we learned that Mobile Transport was calling the wrong number when they were attempting to deliver the car on Friday (but for some reason someone was able to get through to us at 10pm Friday night using the correct number). They argured that we must have given them the wrong number so it was our fault that the car could not be delivered as promised. Meanwhile throughout the weekend the storage fees were accruing to $100. It is a simple case of extortion. They keep our property and continue to accrue fees at $35/day or pay up. So we paid up. By the way, the local delivery driver would not give us his real name (went by Alex), would not give us his business address or business name or location of his storage yard. His delivery truck had not business name on the side, so wish us luck trying to find out who this guy is so we can file a small claims suit against him. Don't let this happen to you. Just don't do business with these crooks. They methodically do this as often as they can (the local delivery driver confessed that he has done this to several other cases just like ours...).
