Mr. Mover
Mr. Mover FL Mover Reg. #IM558 Slow, Unprofessional, Incompetent, Argumentative, Scam, Price Gouge Day of Move Altamonte Springs, Florida
19th of Aug, 2011 by User118056
I was very impressed with the salesman Josh, who said that they were insured and BBB rated, as per their website. The day of the move, we were to have 30 minute call ahead. This did not happen. When they arrived, they immediately started complaining about the stairs, the amount of furniture, each other, us, etc. The one mover continued to chain smoke the entire time during our move and was little to no help to the other mover. Steve, the mover who actually made a great effort, was left in a bad position trying to make things work for us, but his "help" was incompetent. My husband and 2 of our friends ended up helping them move our furniture. They put tarps on our stairs, taking valuable time from the move itself. At 2 hours into the move, there was 1 bed and 1 wardrobe in the truck. When I called the office, I got a recording and left several messages, but no one returned my call. I finally got a dispatch manager who was extremely rude with me and told me they were doing their best. His excuse was that we had stairs (um...it is a second floor unit. What did you think it was going to be?) and a lot of furniture. It is a 2 bedroom apartment. 2 beds, 2 dressers, 2 bookcases, etc. Nothing crazy. I was very polite, but firm with the manager. At no time did I yell, cuss, disparage his men or him. He said that if the guys went faster, there would be furniture damage and "then I'd be yellin' about that." I said, "Sir, I haven't been yelling and for you to imply that I was is insulting and unnecessary." He then started yelling at me that he wasn't being disrespectful and I said, "Sir, I think we are at a place where this conversation is over, I..." but at that point, he hung up on me. At this point, I will be pursuing the matter until I get resolution with the owner of the company. I am over 6 month pregnant and did not need this kind of stress for me or the baby. We got movers because we didn't want to move the furniture ourselves, but that is exactly what ended up happening. All in all, I am very disappointed with Mr. Mover and would not recommend them to anyone. Buyer beware.
