My experience with World Health Club has been incredibly frustrating. I had a feeling it was going to be like that when I signed a one year contract.... I signed a one year contract in January of 2010, paying $29 biweekly ($754/year). I informed the club manager at the Midnapore Calgary location that I would be moving to the United States of America sometime in 2010, and this manager informed me that there would be "no problem" cancelling my membership if I left the country. I gave them my credit card #, and everyone was fine for the first month. By carrying a high balance on my credit card, World Heath club began charging me $15 "NSF" fees for not having the funds available on my credit card. Customers who do not have credit cards are not charged these fees. I stopped going to World Health Club 2 months after signing the membership agreement. I began travelling to the USA every week and started the process of moving. I moved to the USA in July 2010. The manager of Midnapore failed to tell me that they would charge me hundreds of dollars in cancellation fees. He straight out scammed me into signing the contract, leading me to believe that I could just cancel my contract. I did not have the money to pay the ripoff "cancellation fee" so they continued to bill me biweekly membership + $15 NSF fees I cancelled my credit card in October 2010, yet they continued to charge me $15 NSF fees. In January 2011, I called them to finally cancel my membership. They posted a $25 Facilities maintenance fee to my account, and then tried to tell me that i had to give them 30 days cancellation notice. They waived those fees, but it is my opinion that World Health Club Calgary writes their contracts that are completely unfair to the customer, and they fail to adequately explain their hidden fees that are designed to gouge and rip people off. Total cost of 1 year membership: $815 Total Amount of "NSF"Fees Paid $210 Total Cost $1025 Amount charged to my credit card in January 2011 at cancellation - $408
