FACT CHECK (SUSPECTED VANDALISM):

According to the UK police, British press reports published in 2002 incorrectly identified a North London suspect with a similar name as Dan Mazar, the Jerusalem historian who is a member of a prominent Israeli family.

The above posting seems to be referring to this error.
