This company is a scam. My family and I moved from CA to OR. When we first gave the company our information we said we had a 2 bedroom house and requested a full service move. The amount of items we had was discussed over the phone and the woman from the company ("Vanessa") gave us a quote of $1,700. The website and the contract did not say how much their supplies cost, $10 for one medium box! $38 for a role of plastic wrap, which they use alot of. The supplies alone cost us over $600 extra. They estimated the time of arrival to be from noon to 3 pm but actually arrived at 6:30pm. After all was said and done the total had gone up to $7,700. The woman from the company estimated we would use about 500 or so cu/ft in their truck. When they were finished loading our stuff they said we had 1,300 cu/ft of goods. So because the lady on the phone severely under estimated how much room our things would take we paid an additional $6 per cu/ft. And in their own contract it says for a non-binding contract they shall abide by the 110% rule, which means they are only allowed to charge 100% of the original bid plus 10%. After we paid them the initial 65% of the final cost the driver said we were "cool" and that we could call the company the next day and reconfigure a better price. After a lengthy discussion with "Natalie" about how unhappy we were she informed us they could only take $2,000 off and that they were making no money from this move. We agreed and they sent us a "Satisfaction Discount Form" which said we could only have the discount if we agreed not to complain to a third party; BBB, Attorney General, Facebook, etc. Needless to say we did not sign the form as it was a form of blackmail. It took more than 2 weeks for our items to finally arrive after being told at one point the truck was on it's way and then another that it had to be stopped because we would not sign the form. We also informed them before the truck left CA that we needed a weight certificate. When our goods arrived the movers did not know what we were talking about. They also charged us another $450 (in cash) because they had to drive an extra 15 miles out of their way. They said we had to pay them before they could unload our things. So, after they unloaded our goods we had to meet back at the weigh station to weigh the truck again. They never showed. We called several times and waited for an hour at the exact same location we had met before for the initial weight. We called POM the next day to let them know what happened and "Natalie" apologized and said we would be refunded for the $450. Then she sent us an email saying we would only get half of that because the movers were there and waited for us. This of course is not true. But neither we nor they can be proved right so we are out another $225 because of POM. Please do not use this company. |
