Prospect Match
Prospect Match Javelin Marketing SCAM - They sell bogus leads and steal your money - DONT USE THEM Concord, California
7th of Apr, 2011 by User953329
I started using prospect match February 15, 2011. The service they were to provide was to send me leads at $18 each. These leads were supposed to have requested specific information about a number of different topics including: Retirement planning, 401k/IRA Rollovers, Annuities, Investments, etc. They require that you stay signed up for 15 days minimum, and 30 days before you can pause your account. Within the first 30 days I recieved 102 leads ($1985 - including the $149 setup fee). Of these leads one, yes ONE, admitted to requesting information. About 30-35% were disconnected numbers or wrong numbers (seems a little high for people who had just requested information). Prospect match DID credit the bad numbers back in the form of lead credits - not cash - as long as you requested the credit within 10 days. The big problem was the other 65-70% of the leads. All but one had NO IDEA what I was talking about!! They didn't say, "I'm not interested" or "I changed my mind" or "Oh I didn't realized I was signing up for that"... They were completely clueless as to why I was calling. One lady said that the address I had for her was 8 years old and the email address was her old college address that had been disconnected since college 5 years ago. She currently lived in New York, I'm in Texas. One lady was 92 years old, had been retired for 27 years, was living fully on social security, and did not own a computer. Not the typical profile for financial advise. There are several more leads that didn't add up, but you get the point. I asked for a refund and they would not budge. So you have some context; I spend around 10-15 hours a week on the phone calling prospects, so I don't believe it's my phone skills. Also, I have 3 other sites that I purchase leads from. All of them work quite well. The bottom line is Prospect match is not being truthful about were the leads are coming from. I would not to business with them again, ever!

Sorry to hear about your experience. Prospect Match operates under the umbrella of a corporate name Javelin Marketing. Prospect Match use to be called Senior Leads as well. The owner and sole operator's name is Larry Klein who was a former top Prudential adviser. It will state on the BBB review that someone by the name of Robert Mednick is the President of Prospect Match which is false. Larry Klein operates the business day to day and is the beneficiary of all revenue (needless to say, whoever Mednick is, could be receiving moneys as well) generated by the company. Also, if you don't already know, the BBB is a scam in itself. I could have a continuous flow of complaints against my business and still keep a good looking rating on my BBB review. It's all about money, to say the least.

Larry Klein has spent a lot of time and money making sure his name is not attached to the business due to many factors including his history and reputation being tarnished in the financial services industry and also the dissolving of his previous marketing business where a lot of revenue was generate knowing he was going to shut down and not deliver products paid for by customers.. Although a very insightful sales coach, money is his biggest motivator by large. Within days of the previous company's dissolve, he had already began business under this new company.

He has to walk a fine line with this business because of all the things working against him especially on the web. He counters the web issues in many ways, mainly Search Engine Optimization (SEO). I can catalog just about 25 websites that he owns such as prospectmatch15.com, prospectmatch10.com, retirement-income.net, etc. where it's obvious that the purpose is to litter the web with as much of his own content in order to grab the most visible matches to keyword searches in order to be sure any articles or topics related to his true business practices are pushed back. If you have the technical knowledge, much of this can be done with limited funds so imagine what he is doing without the concern of costs.

Here is an example of what he was searching for recently in regards to finding an SEO expert to help him with his reputation online:

Larry doesn't hesitate to use his attorney to threaten website owner's with litigation when content is posted about his business. Although I question legal standing supporting his case, I believe he knows that he has no factual case and just uses the harassment to beat people into submission. It's a very abusive at best,

The funny thing about all of this is, it would be fairly simple to expose this whole thing for what it is. I've thought about doing it myself but I have enough on my plate as is but that won't necessarily exclude me from doing so some time soon.

Maybe Larry shouldn't have hired me knowing I'm more technically savvy then even his own tech guy (Jason Perry).

prospect match is a bogus company that sells financial product leads that "lead " to nowhere. all the so called follow up calls I made to "qualified leads" went absolutely nowhere. And, most prospects were unaware as well as upset that their information was pubic. I would strongly suggest that this method of client contact never be used by honest financial service professionals. We owe our clients more respect than that.
