PS Racing Doug Weaver a (thief-scam) burbank, California
31st of Oct, 2011 by User412578
I am writing this review because I was shocked to read what happened to others, happened to my uncle. My uncle owns a Porsche 928 and was a gift given to him by his wife on their anniversary because he always wanted that car. The car was in great running condition all it need was gaskets to stop a leak from the transmission. . He decided it needed a fix so he took it to PS Racing located in Burbank in 2009 where Doug Weaver assisted him to help him. He is the owner of the shop. The 1st time my uncle took the Porsche 928 to Doug Weaver, it was due to a leakage in the transmission. My uncle paid upfront $2,500 to replace the seals in the transmission which was back in 2009. Doug Weaver told my uncle it was going to be ready in a week. The following he visited PS Racing to get the car back from its fixes. But Doug Weaver said its not ready yet and kept coming up with new excuses that it was not ready. This actually went on for a TOTAL of two years. Recently in June of this year 2011, my uncle kept pressuring Doug Weaver to finish the fixes and return the car. When it was finally returned, Doug Weaver said “there might be additional parts that I added, which you will have to pay a little more”. So at the time my uncle was fine, as long as I get my car back since it has been at the shop for 2 years. In the day of picking up the car Doug Weaver preceded my uncle to his office and gave my uncle 3 pages of parts that he replaced and fixes he made additionally without my uncles consent which was not in the agreement. So the bill came up to an additional $2,500. The original agreement was to change the seals in the transmission to stop the leaks. My uncle is a honest person and a really nice guy and he figured at least he will have a really clean and running car with no problems. When he brought the Weaver Porsche home, we noticed that the transmission was still leaking. So he go in contact with Doug Weaver and Doug gave him the excuse that since the gaskets are new they need time to break in and expand and overtime it should go away. Within a week the leak got even worse. So my uncle contact Doug Weaver again and he said bringing it in and ill check it might be a loose holes. The week after Doug Weaver contacts my uncle and tells him that the leak is due from “internal damage” from the transmission, and it will be an additional $1,500 to fix. So when I heard all this bullshit I decided to get the name down of the shop and that’s when I discovered my uncle was a victim of Ripoff, when I read all the reviews on Doug Weaver and his PS Racing shop. I read many horrible stories and worse than my uncles that I decided to also write a review and let the community know what horrible thing is going on in Burbank. All I know my uncle paid $5,000 to Doug Weaver and did not even fix the original problem which was just a simple leak. Now 2 years after in PS Racing and my uncle is $5,000 in the hole and the leak is so bad he cannot even drive his Porsche. Doug Weaver needs to be put in jail.
