| I received a call at from a number that showed up on my caller ID as "50", I did not answer it, the guy said his name was Shawn Johnson and I needed to return his call as soon as I received the message as a lawsuit has been filed against me. I called the number that he left back, 347-380-8980, the person that answered the phone said "hello", I was like wtf? what type of business answers the phone by saying "hello", anyhow, I asked to speak with Shawn Johnson, the guy asked for the number they called so he can access my account, I gave it to him and he said he would be able to help me, his name was James Johnson (I guess everyone that works there has the last name of Johnson? yeah right!) Both of the men had very heavy middle-eastern accents; he began to rattle off a bunch of criminal charges that were supposedly being filed against me for default on my supposed loan. I asked him who did I supposedly have this loan with? He said Cash Advance America, I told him I never heard of them, he then began to say they are a parent company of over 2500 payday loan stores, I told him I still never heard of them, I asked him how much was this loan and when did I supposedly take it out, he said it was for $300 and I took it out on 3/11/11. I told him that is not true, I never took out any loan. He then said ok I will be filing the lawsuit against you so you better get a lawyer and hung up on me. I reported this scam to the FTC and to my identity theft protection company. |

| Im very surprised to read this as the same exact thing is being done to me. Its shocking how similar our calls were. They are also very disrespectful and tend to say things dont make any sense. They threatend to have my social security number revoked. They also said i would lose my current job. How dumb can they be. I just need to make them stop calling me. They call my cell at least 20 times a day and they also call my boss and yell at him. I am so fed up and have also filed a complaint with the FTC. |

| I received a call from a person named Josh Miller, first he said Alex, stating there was a law suit against my SSN. I asked him what is the SSN number but he just kept talking. Said he was from PCS and the number he called from was 0000000000, hardly spoke english. Has anyone received calls like this? I know it is a scam and how can I report it to FTC without a legitimate phone number? |

| I have been receiving calls like this for months now! I get so mad and usually hang up on them. All of these stories match mine exactly!!! I am so amazed, the phone call comes from 00000000 and he can't hardly speak english. I am not sure what to do! |

| This has just happened to me guy just called me a middle eastern . said it was concerning my father and legal troubles and when i ask why he was calling me he said it was because i was a reference. He said first his name was Sawn wood from PCS from a number 209-555-1214 and wanted me to call him back at 814-322-9207 when i called i asked to speak to a supervisor because the first one was rude he transferred me to a guy he said he was Alex something hardly understand them. They said they had my info and social and that they were going to file a case against me and F*** me legally . But didnt give any info .lol any advice on what i should do ??? |

PCS /Public Credit Services called my house 14 times yesterday starting at 6:30AM (live in CA) they called my work 6 times. I got a Marcus Stevens who threatened my job, and lawsuits against my SS#. I found some useful info online about Sec 809 of FDCPA fair debt collection practices act, asked if they were licensed in Calif. Asked for documentation or proof of the loan. their reply "this is a paperless unsecured loan" i have talked to the same guy 3 times and gotten Marcus Stevens, Nick Winehouse, James Johnson...they kept calling this morning to talk to my manager and i disguised my voice a little and told them i was the manager and my names was james johnson... he laughed and hung up..I filed a complaint with the FTC and plan on giving them every number that has called my house. |

| Ross Taylor called my work today and told my co-worker that a lawsuit has been filed and my SS# is under investigation. My co-worker (also my son) told him that he was being unprofessional and could not give out the personal info he was giving and the guy hung up on him. I was sitting next to him and thought it was funny. I called the number back and a male answered the phone, "hello." I asked for Ross Taylor and he told me that he was his supervisor. I told him they could not call my work number and only my cell. He said ok and hung up. |

| I just received a phone message from 347-474-7041 (the number that appeared on my caller id) and the number I was to return the call to was 347-960-0611. Same scenario as previously reported on this site. Heavy accented male saying he was Jordan White and that I need to call back and speak to him about lawsuit filed against me and that if I fail to call back proceedings will begin to revoke my social security number. In reading these posts, I too am going to report this to the FTC. |

| I received serveral calls last year and when finally I told them that I had contacted the Missouri State Attorney General's office they said "give your attorney our number and have him call us, we'll discuss it with them", but I never heard anything again. UNTIL TODAY, when a David Cooper called and said he was with American Legal Systems. He spouted off several charges, regarding an unpaid payday loan, and when I told him I had an attorney he put another man on the phone. This time it was Marcus Stevens and he said he was with Public Credit Services. He said the same threatening things, lawsuits and loss of job, etc. I basically told him I knew it was a scam, I would be more than happy to give my attorney his information and that I was disgusted by them and these phone calls, and he hung up on me. What A-HOLES!!! |

| This exact situation is happening to me, as well. The 2 numbers used are 347-491-5137 and 347-474-7041 and the name I was given is James Conner. They have been incredibly harassing, yelling at me over the phone (work phone!) and saying that they would continue to call back no matter how many times I hung up on them. They finally stopped calling when I had a coworker answer, ever though I am the receptionist. So frustrating! What's worse is that they had my name, SSN, home address, work number, cell number, 2 references and my computer's IP address. What else are they going to do with all of this information? I'm nervous and pissed! |

| This all sounds to familiar. A guy named Kevin Anderson called and said that I owed $546.00 from an unsecured loan and that a lawwuit had been filed against my social security number. If I didn't pay with a credit card or debit card card I would sued. i asked for documentation via email and he said it was against company procedure and that I would have to pay first. He said his company was a collection agency representing Cash USA and if I paid $540.00 my name would be cleared. $540.00? He at first said $546.00. These guys are like Premier Membership Club which hacked into my bank account and withdrew $149.00 unauthorized dollars. That scam resulted in me eventually losing my bank account. |
