Simplexity and Perkspot simplexity.com, whereismyorder.com, workingadvantage.com, wirefly.com Ripped off purchasing cell phone contract through a comp
17th of Mar, 2011 by User483665
We signed up for a 2-year cellular phone contract with Verizon. The plan was purchased through PerkSpot, an employee discount program. After five months of hassle from Verizon not applying the 17% discount, and refusing to make the discount retroactive since it was their employees who stated it would be active on day one, we canceled the contract, subjecting us to a $155 early termination fee per line. I had assumed this was to cover the cost of the "free" cell phones. We are now being charged $200.00 each from Simplexity for the phones. We received several automated phone calls, but it was too fast to catch the number. I called Verizon, and they had stated the calls were from them and we might get more but not to worry about it since I'd contacted them and made a payment arrangement. The first letter we received in the mail from Simplexity had the subject:
Final Notice, Action Required, Past Due Balance for Early Termination of Wireless Service # We received no bill, and the phone calls were all automated. This is a major scam. I hope Simplexity gets put out of business for such practices.

I work at Wirefly's HQ, and I am concerned that you feel we are contacting you erroneously, however when you purchased your phones with us you did agree to our terms of purchase.
Our terms of purchase clearly state the following: Wirefly promises you savings in the form of instant discounts with no rebates or gimmicks when you sign up for wireless carrier service on a 2 year agreement. Delivering on this promise means that you must agree to maintain your agreement for a minimum of 6 months after activation. Deactivating your phone, or downgrading features or the rate plan, may lead to additional charges.
To provide you with significant savings vs. buying in a retail store, the price you paid for your device includes an Instant Savings Discount from Wirefly.
By accepting this Instant Savings Discount, you agree to repay $200 of this discount ($300 for smartphones and netbooks) and authorize us to charge your credit card in repayment of this amount if, you signed up for a 2 year agreement and during the 181 days after your new equipment is activated, your wireless carrier notifies us that the services you purchased have been suspended, disconnected, or deactivated, or if you return your purchase outside of the return and exchange provisions of our 30-day Satisfaction Guarantee.
If you feel that this is still in error, you are welcome to email us your order number and contact information to [email protected]
