The Alaska Club invokes deceptive practices in regards to membership cancellation and billing. I gave notice that I was moving and needed to cancel. The gym acknowledged and stated to send in documentation. Documentation was provided, but later the account was sent to collection. Be careful of a $500.00 cancellation fee. They later stated they had not received documentation and no longer could wave fee. I attempted to provide proof of documentation receipt, but have not received a phone call back after several attempts to discuss with management. In addition, this gym charges an exorbitant amount (upwards of $100 for 2 members); other gyms in the Anchorage area with comparable and more encompassing services that are more reasonable ($20.00). In addition do the research, most gyms do not require such an excessive cancellation fee. This type of health club can be designated as predatory to potential members and I can only recommend please research other options and be prepared for unfair agreement if you should became part of the Alaska Club Stuck.
