Beware of calls from people saying they are from "The Power Company"!My family business got a call from The Power Company, saying they were going to save us money and that they are from the power company. We asked are you from Com Edison, he said yes we are from the power company. We thought by the name they used it was a representative from Com Edison. they said they were calling from the "Power company" sure sounded like Com Edison to me. find out this is a out of state scam who are pretending to be a Com Ed employee. the telemarketer person said his name was Adam Morton but would give his address or phone number, said he was calling from California, had no caller identification. We called Com Edison and they said they have been getting calls from customers complaining about the same thing. When I told them what happened they said sure sounded like a scam especially with them saying they are from "the Power Company". Com Edison told me to call the ICC and gave us their phone number. I will report these scammers. who knows who else they are calling and lying to. I found their website www.thepowercompany.com. Report them to the ICC. and Com Edison.
This posting not only is completely untrue but in fact we would have no motivation to claim to represent any incumbent energy provider. More importantly we firmly believe this posting was placed by a competitor and “NOT A SOLICITED CUSTOMER. Our customers are currently enjoying savings from one of the many power providers we are able to and have provided to them.” “ The Power Company” is a professional company helping clients take advantage of deregulated energy in select markets. Our entire marketing strategy is to clearly identify that we may provide better alternative than the incumbent (it is unfathomable that we would claim to be the incumbent provider). In fact we represent numerous of the nations top energy providers and this information is given to each and every potential customer or client. It is in fact the most important and critical part of every presentation. We explain to every potential customer that we operate much like “Lending Tree” did in the mortgages industry- using multiple resources to benefit their specific needs by finding them the appropriate energy contract at reduced costs and/or more acceptable terms. This accurate disclosure is critical to our sales process and any other representation would be counter productive.
Further it is, has been, and continues to be, perfectly professional, legal, and respected to operate within any state in the U.S. without being termed an “Out of state scam” as purported in this posting. What may not be legal is to use the Internet or any means to disrupt a competitors business and we have strong reason to believe that is the case here. It is completely unethical and more likely than not illegal to use this format creating an interstate and worldwide posting of false and/or misleading claims. We find these tactics disgusting and further an insult to your (and our) intelligence and we expect each of you will feel the same. We will further investigate this posting and if in fact; when we prove up the source we will pursue all legal remedies to include criminal prosecution.
In regards to Commonwealth Edison (ComEd), who supports deregulation and invites fair competition, we can and will insure them that our marketing methods are professional and factual and we receive no benefit by claiming to be them or any other incumbent provider: Our marketing focuses on providing many and/or the best alternatives to our customers. I would like to thank all of you for reading this and believe you will reach the appropriate conclusion.

The Power Company is a legit company. It doesn't make logical sense for this to be a scam, what do they stand to gain? They are not asking for any money they are only informing the United States people of there rights. It only takes a glance to see how bad the infrastructure is around this issue and it's about time someone informed the people so the market gets competitive and our grand kids don't have to answer to another country for their energy.
Scammers. I received the same call. Where I live there is only one power provider owned by the provincial government and the caller couldn't identify it. When I asked for a phone number to call "Brian" back he wouldn't provide one. Piss off "Brian" and "The Power Company".
I don't know about a scam - it seems like a legitimate company.
But the fact that The Power Company sent a representative to post on this page, not only calling themselves by the mysterious (and suspicious) moniker "The Executive Team, " but threatening legal action against a customer who was unsatisfied by a phone call experience with the organization, speaks to the quality/ethics of this company. This is a slash-and-burn marketing technique, generally not used by companies that are unafraid of a little scrutiny.
I found an open position with The Power Company on Indeed.com and considered applying, but first I did some internet research to try and learn more about this company that I had never before heard of (and whose website looks like it was created as a college course project). After coming across this very disconcerting forum response, I will certainly not waste my time considering employment with TPC. I'd much rather align myself with a company that respects not just its own customers, but also those people who choose not to hire them.
The Power Company is full of scammers. My business was switched by Superior Power I went from paying 8c with ComEd to paying 7.6 with Hudson Energy, then they came back again and put me with Champion Energy at 7.2c for 3 years. Keep in mind my Hudson Contract has not expired yet, the representative told me that he will take care of any cancellation fees, well he did not, I was charged a $6, 400.00 cancellation fee by Hudson Energy. I tried telling Hudson that the rep told me there would be no fee they just sent me a copy of my contract. I did not pay it and when I tried reaching the agent his phone was disconnected.
And recently I had an agent from The Power Company come in and tell me the same story that he is just lowering my rate everything will stay the same and offered me 6.5c I put 2 and 2 together and discovered that The Power Company is the same as Superior Power that has caused me so much heat ache. I confronted the agent about it he said that he does not know anything about Superior that he just started a few months ago and that he was given my business name and was told to close the account. I tried calling the agent a day later to get more information about The Power Company, well the number was not in service, what a surprise. The Power Company are scammers and should not be trusted.
