TranOne
TranOne Missleading promises and stolen money Miami, Florida
12th of Nov, 2010 by User873644
My transmission was going out so I went to get a quote from a neighborhood shop. They quoted me 3,200$. Of course I wanted to shop around. I turned to the internet as we all do these days. I found a company calling themselves TranOne that advertized 1,000$ plus hard part damage (whatever that means). They also advertise high quality; low cost re-built transmissions should the repair be that extensive. I bit on the potential for a 1,000$ repair. They promised free towing, some free diagnostic work, etc. They took my car to a local shop on S. Broadway. The shop is itself a reputable AAMCO repair place. Once the real diagnostics begin (going into the transmission), they ask for a 895.54$ deposit. This is done as a direct deposit into their bank account so you cannot do anything about it if things go wrong. After further diagnostics, they quoted me a price of 3,600.00$ I later learned that the AAMCO shop was charging Tranone 2,200$. This is a WHOPPING 63% profit for making a few phone calls and emails!!!! The entire process is done by phone and email. I had to keep a rental car because the process was so lengthy. I was very angry once I got the price. I told them that I would not go forward with the repair and asked what I needed to do to get a refund of my money. My rep Joyce (no last name available) told me that I had to go pay for the work done by the AAMCO shop and send them the receipt by email. I did so. After about 2 weeks, I had not received any communication from them. I called Joyce to inquire. She told me that she did not know the process for a refund but that her company did everything by email. They will not provide a physical office location. Since then, they have stopped accepting my calls and will not return voice mails. They basically kept the 895.54$ Deposit. Their information is below:
