We recently bought two end tables, a coffee table and a desk for the office. We understand it is a discount store and that is fine. You have to haul everything yourself and that would not work for us. So, they offered alternative delivery. The price for delievery was $65.00. We decided to purchase the furniture and set up delievery. When they arrived they brought up the items to the second floor (we live on the 4th floor) and proceeded to tell my pregnant wife that their job was done. They insisted on telling her that they only deliver up to one flight of stairs and
that it was our responsiblity. If we did not like that answer we have three options: 1) to do the rest ourselves; 2) to reschedule delivery for a later date when I'm available or could move the furniture ourselves (which would cost an
additional $30.00 for re-delievery); 3) or to pay them an additional $75.00 cash. She told them that she didn't have cash and they told her to go to the ATM machine. She said she is pregnant, currently is watching her 6 month old and does not have a vehicle since the husband is working. They said they would take a check but she would have to add on an additional $10.00. I know my issue lies mostly with this magical "third party vendor". A vendor that we've had no contact with.. ever. However, we weren't going to buy this furniure because we didn't have a truck to move it and we didn't want to move it up 4 flights of stairs. However, the sales person used this delivery service as a sales technique. The delievery driver said it was in our agreement. I did not find anywhere in my paperwork that told us of additional fees and the salesperson knew we lived on the 4th floor. The fees were based upon the price of our merchandise. Unclaimed Frieght engages in shady
business practices and associates themselves with shady delievery drivers.companies. If you want to pick up the merchandise yourself... I would say you might be fine. Don't rely on the store being upfront about the delievery service. If they are shady about this practice; it makes you think what else are they not upfront
about. Maybe there are some truths to the rest of the complaints you will find about Unclaimed Frieght. Best of luck to you!
