This is not an official US Government site. This site offers a passport renewal "service." They are more expensive than using the US State Dept. They also charge a nonrefundable $45 fee if you cancel. Their customer service department is well versed in defending their deceptive practices and overly terse and defensive in their responses to fraud and misrepresentation. They encourage you to file a fraud case with your credit card company because they know they will win the dispute over the $45 fee. There is a box you have to check on the application stating you agree to pay this nonrefundable fee. Most people do not realize this is not an official site until they see what they owe and then it is too late to cancel. US Passport defends its shadowy business model by insisting they renew your passport faster than the US State Dept. But, if this is not a concern, then you are OVERPAYING FOR THEIR SERVICE! This is a nasty company and you should avoid becoming involved. Use the passport renewal at the US State Dept at http://travel.state.gov/passport/renew/renew_833.html.
