USA Auto Inc Sold me a car that had problems from the start, then it broke down 3 in months after buying the car. mesa, Arizona
5th of Dec, 2011 by User663007
I bought a Ford Escape 2005 in August 20,2011. I had to put down 1800 as a down payment which they broke up in weeks. A few weeks after the key was getting stuck in the ignition, nothing major but kind of a hassle. Shortly after I get a flat on the road, when I started to repair the flat their was no spare so I had to get the vehicle towed. I should of checked for a spare before I bought the car, that's my fault. I had to replace two tires for 384.00. In October the car wouldn't start at times, I told myself could be the battery or the starter. I said if it that I will replace it, not a problem. Well, on Thanksgiving we decided to drive to California, on the way there the car overheated, it pretty much broke down. I had the car towed to Blythe, CA and had a mechanic look at it. He charged me 210.00 for a cooling system diagnostic check. It was extra because it was a holiday. He told us the car had different parts in it, some not stock and pretty much said it was a blown head gasket and possibly a damaged engine. From what I heard it can cost anywhere from 1000 to 1700 to fix depending on the severity of the problem. I ended up spending 520.00 that day which included a diagnostic check and tow. The same day I texted the owners of the dealership, no response. A few days later I texted my sales guy who was also the owner son, no response. I called several times and left messages. I sent another text to my sales guy and he finally responded and said to contact his brother. I did, both on the phone and in a text. I was calling these guys to see if they can help out, perhaps split cost or have their mechanic fix it and charge me later. I needed a vehicle for work. I felt they sold me a defected vehicle from day one and for some reason I thought they will help, they were nice when I met them. Well today 12-6-11 I texted them both and I told them I was seeking legal counsel. 4 minutes later they both responded to my text, my sales guy told me to contact his brother again, the brother told me life isn't fair, don't look for someone to blame, and why not fix your own car. We gave you a 15 day warranty it doesn't cover 3 months. Do you believe this guy? Sold me a car with problems, I put in over $3600 into it in the 3 months and he tells me to fix it which will probably cost me around $1000 to $1700 into a car that broke down in just 3 months, a car that started having problems weeks after. This guy wanted/wants me to put in more money into a car that will probably have other problems besides the blown head gasket. It's funny, actually I feel stupid, when I bought the car my sales guy was showing me a website for discounted auto parts for the car I was buying. Should of known....but I guess Life isn't fair!
