This letter from USA Direct Promotions claims I"ve won $250,000.00 in the USA Mega Lotto, that my numbers matched a ticket with my name of it.
Enclosed was a check for $4,720.20 to deposit so I will have the money to pay the taxes on the check being delivered in the amount of $245,279.80.
Check is drawn on United Western Bank, Denver CO, which has now been sold to Citizens Bank, I called and they cannot do any verification over the phone and was told if I was expecting money maybe its good if not than It may be a SCAM! She could not comment on any other question.

Same thing happened to me.. these fkers have been calling me to send the check. and I have been fooling around there.

What you need to do is inform the government about it and make sure that you open a new bank account and deposit the money in the new account, so that the scammers cant withdraw money from your original account. Go to the bank and verify the check and make sure that you have a record of the means you took to verify the legality of the check as I have heard of cases where the "winner" gets in trouble with the FEDS (F the Feds, private scammers themselves).

These can be a money laundering techniques for the underground. Take caution and also make sure that the calls are short too with these "informants" in the phone. You might be tracked.. If you have balls to take the money.. just sit back and relax :)
