Vivid Marketing in Columbia Maryland is exactly the cult that is described being related to Cydcor and DSMAX. I have worked there for over a month and started to do some searching online to find out what is really going on. I had my first round interview that lasted 10minutes, with a group of young twenty year olds, they didnt even discuss my resume. I was called back that same day for a second ...round interview and was told to come in on monday to observe my leader "in action". No one told me we would be harrassing people, sneaking past "gatekeepers", ignoring no solicitation signs, and driving around and walking for almost 8 hours. I came wearing heels!! The atmosphere was conatgious though, everyone seemed upbeat. No one was allowed to be a downer. Every morning we were put through a ritual that consisted of showing up at 7-7:15 every morning working on on "routes" for the day. At 8 a clock the newbies were seperated from the "leaders" at the morning meetings. It was kind of strange though that only leaders were given special binders to carry around and read out of. In fact at one point I got to see the word for word "WELCOME back to your first day of observation, the managers must have seen something special in you to ask you back" keep them talking and interested explain to them that there is a 10 10 80 rule, 10% are happy to see you, 10% dont want anything to do with you, and 80 are the ones that need to be controlled and informed. Oh btw did i mention we were to use four impulse factors to make people feel impulsed into buying that day. No business cards, no contact information, in fact the only time you speak to your customers is when retention comes along and its your job to get them to reorder. Everymoring from 8-10 it consisted of standing, NOT SITTING, there are no chairs, whether the pictures of their facebook page say it or not, you ARE standing for two hours!!!!! committing their theories to memory, making goals of how you are going to get someone to buy from you, making circle where we all chant and whoo yaaaa over the owner and manager. Soliciation signs? What are you talking about, they are open invitations to walk into a building so you can get the cops called on you. I watched in fascination at one point a lady said that she needed permission to place an order, the leader ignored it walked her through made her print her two pages of confirmation and then sai sign here on the line. The lady was flabbergasted, she was like i told you that i had to have permission to order, and of course she go into trouble. i was told that she needed to be taken control of because thats what people in her position are used to. gatekeepers are there to be told what to do. stand there until it gets akward is there favorite little phrase. The first one that speaks loses. The team nights all involved drinking and going to bars such as the Second Chance or the Green Turtle. Unless you were drinking you didnt look to enthused to be there. Calling every sunday?? Oh yeah they do it alright heeeyyyy how are you h...ow was your weekend, oh i know why your really calling because i have had all weekend to think about quitting, but i am so brainwashed by the "positive" atmosphere and little chants for top leaders that i say to myself. I dont want to be tht quitter everyone talks about. The law of averages kicks in after the average people quit. You dont get paid for your gas, nothing. You are expected you drive to areas as far out as 1-2hrs or even be sent into the ghetto by yourself (im a women, do you know how scarey this is) You are given a "territtory" which is a map of an area. Heard that you were promoting to busineses? Had the idea they knew you were coming? How about no?! They have no idea, you are told you wrk your territory correctly, every door every floor, and always always always bypass the buildings offices. You never want to knock on that door. Why? Becuase the truth is if they knew we were in their harrassing customers with all these great things that really dont benefit anybody. Imagine being dropped off on the corner of a street and being told that they are gong to pick you up later. You have no money (you havent been paid), you have one cell phone (you pay for and must make phonecalls from), you dont know the area that you are in, and when you tell somebody your in the ghetto you are told hey thats where i made bank. in fact the lady at this business doesnt even blink an eye at writing a check, go check her out definitely. Here is a list of people that havent reordered that you can make bank from. Do you notice how all this big time leaders have sh*tty cars or live with eachother. I mean for land sakes the owner CHRYSTANTHI lives with her ASSISTANT manager because she cant afford to live on her own. There top rollers??? Look at there cars and suits that they wear every other day. do you really think they are making that much money, no not yet because their little pyramid hasnt been built up enough where they are getting paid off the people working under them. You participate in chants and dancing around for a bell party after youve spent 8+hours in the field. I would never get home until 7-730. Not to include those team nights or special meetings with my leader. OH and lets not forget the sales leadership conference. Where they over and over again re recognize there top producers, then all of a sudden split into groups, kind of funny that the new people are segregated to a different room where yout told that if you dont follow the 4, 5 8's and put your whole life into this scheme your nothing but a quitter. Over and over I was being told that I was acting strange by my family and friends, and guess what they were all the tell tale signs of being wrapped up in this cult. And the sick part is that these "leaders" know whats going on, its all in there little books they have to read word from word from. They dont give a crap about you. do you know how many people have come through the system. the only people who have stayed in this mayhem are the people able to make people by building their pyramid. Benefits?? Yeah right. YOU pay for them. Paychecks, YET TO SEE ONE! Gas Reimbursement YEAH RIGHT, you are trained to live and breathe this utter BS, all the while you are losing money and subjecting yourself to doing what can be seen as unethical or illegal. They talk about ethics but I have yet to see ethics among one of them.
